The Direct Path to Ultimate Bliss

This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Wang Mingxiao, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition to the Pure Land, recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fa, on September 27, 2024.

Lay Practitioner Wang Mingxiao speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. Today, by simply chanting the holy name 'Namo Amituofo', I have arrived at the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I am filled with immense gratitude towards Practitioner Su, who guided and pulled me toward this magnificent realm.

During my life in the human world, although I was quite diligent in my practice, I did not truly understand the necessity of having a firm and unwavering heart for rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I was not entirely clear about what the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss truly was. It was not until my spirit arrived at the Dharma-Nature Land of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to listen to the Dharma that I finally realised: a single recitation of the holy name 'Namo Amituofo' is enough to reach the Buddha’s land on the other shore, and it is a power that can help so many others.

The Direct Path to Buddhahood

The Pure Land Dharma Gate, which focuses on holding fast to the holy name of Namo Amituofo, is truly the most direct path to becoming a Buddha. However, every person in this world has different karmic affinities, and therefore, they study different aspects of the Buddha’s teachings. This is why there are so many different Dharma gates—to save different types of people. Now that I have been saved by the Buddha, I am deeply grateful for the Buddha’s boundless compassion towards me.

Right now, I am standing upon a magnificent, large white lotus flower. The edges of the lotus petals are surrounded by brilliant golden light. My entire being is filled with boundless energy, and a smile naturally rests upon my lips. Within my ears, there is nothing but the constant, resonant sound of the holy name 'Namo Amituofo'.

The True Purpose of Practice

During my life, I originally thought that I was already quite diligent. I shared what I knew and what I had perceived with the public, hoping to help everyone. Now, I realise that the most important thing is to help others recognise Namo Amituofo and to attain rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, thereby truly ending the cycle of reincarnation. Only then can we truly help everyone’s spirit to be liberated.

I see so many practitioners who are attached to their own methods of practice, yet when they reach the end of their lives, they are unable to be the masters of their own destiny. I see many who have stepped onto the path of practice but cannot see their own mistakes, and I see the profound anxiety of the people in society. It is precisely because I see these things that my heart has been filled with a desire to spread the Dharma. I want more people to understand, to walk out of their current fixed ideas, and to overcome the difficulties of their lives. Now, under the guidance of Namo Amituofo, I am learning higher wisdom, so that in the future, I can help even more people.

A Message of Gratitude

Xiaoduo, thank you for encountering Namo Amituofo and for encountering this Great Dharma; it is only because of this that you were able to help me attain liberation. Being husband and wife in this life, I feel a gratitude that words cannot express—everything is understood without needing to be said. I hope that you will let go of everything that is still weighing on your heart and follow Namo Amituofo wholeheartedly. If there is an opportunity to introduce this Great Dharma to more people and help more beings, please do a little more. In the future, we shall return to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss together, in glory.

I am grateful for the karmic affinities with everyone in the world. I am grateful to the Buddha and to Practitioner Su.
