Interview with Dr. Helmut Sohmen (Former Chairman of BW Group)
This is a record of an interview with the spirit of Jack Ma, who sought spiritual guidance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. This account reflects upon his past life as the great monk Faxian. It was recorded by the chief writer, Venerable Shi Faxi, on February 22, 2018.
Venerable Shi Faxi speaks: "Jack Ma, you were once the great monk Faxian, who dedicated his life to spreading the Buddha's teachings in this world. ."
Jack Ma speaks:
"Great monk Faxian? I, Jack Ma, have never once imagined that I could possess such a side to myself—such a dignified and noble identity. Hearing you say this, my heart seems to resonate with a deep, hidden memory. Why is it that I suddenly feel this overwhelming urge to weep?"
"I have always considered myself to be incredibly strong. I never shed tears in front of others, and I have always preferred to complete tasks entirely on my own. Yet, looking back, I realise that I have always possessed a deep-seated desire to share my experiences with others. I have always wanted to help guide people, to offer the younger generation a clear path based on the lessons I have learned along the way. I have given countless speeches in various formats, and now I understand—these actions were not merely coincidences. They were the result of from my past. Today, I am truly astonished to learn the truth behind these inclinations."
"I have finally come to understand the true meaning of spreading the Dharma. It turns out that I have a responsibility to do so. Previously, I felt that such a task was far removed from my own life, completely disconnected from my social circles and my personal interests. I am also acutely aware that my current character and conduct are vastly different from that of my past life as a monk. I feel a profound sense of shame when I consider the myriad changes that occur throughout the cycle of being reincarnated, and how I have allowed myself to sink into the and of this world.
However, if I am able to truly make a contribution during this current opportunity, I should certainly do my part to protect and support the Buddha’s teachings. Now that I have uncovered the truth of my past, my heart has finally found a sense of genuine peace. It feels as though the shadow of a monastic practitioner has begun to emerge within my own heart. To be honest, this is a truly wonderful feeling."
This interview message was recorded by the Buddhist disciple, Venerable Shi Faxi.
