The Journey of Lay Practitioner Zhuang Yufeng to the Western Land

This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Zhuang Yufeng, the grandmother of Lay Practitioner Zhang Meichan. Having sought Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, she now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition to the Pure Land and her message to her descendants. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on May 16, 2025.

Lay Practitioner Zhuang Yufeng speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Zhuang Yufeng, and I have arrived at the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Now, I find myself chanting Namo Amituofo spontaneously and without effort. It has not been long since I arrived, yet I have already fully integrated into this realm. The lotus flowers here in the Western Land emit a delicate, subtle fragrance, and every corner is illuminated by a brilliant golden light. As I gaze upon the magnificent scenery of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, my spirit feels exceptionally vibrant, and I feel as though my entire being has been rejuvenated and made young again.

The Radiance of the Western Land

I am deeply grateful to my granddaughter for inviting Practitioner Su to lead my spirit to the Buddha-land, allowing me to follow the Buddha closely. Before I made the final decision to seek rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I still had many things I wanted to say and many worries I wanted to express. However, I now realise that those feelings were simply what we call 'an inability to let go.' The beauty and purification I experience now have allowed my heart to finally release those burdens. In truth, the only thing I truly wish to convey to all of you is a hope that you will perform more acts of Goodness and keep the Buddha present in your hearts; only then will you possess the true strength to navigate this world.

Watching Over My Descendants

Our family can be considered quite fortunate to have descendants like you who are learning the Buddha’s teachings and following the path of the Buddha. Because of this, I can finally set my heart at ease. During my time here in the Buddha-land, my spirit has become clear and bright, and I can see everything with such profound clarity. I can see that every single person in the human world is being interfered with by their karmic creditors, and this includes all of you. Whenever I see these karmic creditors causing interference in your lives, I feel very anxious. I long to help you, but I cannot interfere with the laws of karma and cause and effect. Therefore, I can only chant Namo Amituofo and dedicate the merit to you, hoping that everything will take a turn for the better. This is the heartfelt wish of this old woman.

A Grandmother's Final Wish

All of the children in our family possess a kind heart. Although it is inevitable that you will be influenced by the hardships of the world as you navigate through life, I have full confidence in you. My granddaughter, you are a person of great capability. You have experienced much suffering, but now that you are connected to the Buddha-land, I hope that you can truly let go of your attachments and dedicate yourself to helping propagate the Buddha’s teachings. This is also a way of helping yourself. I also hope that you will continue to study the Buddha’s teachings diligently so that you may eventually save your family members, or at the very least, ensure that they all have the opportunity to hear the name of Namo Amituofo.

Thank you for helping me receive Chao Du. After sharing these words, I will continue to follow the Buddha and focus on my practice. I hope that everything goes well for all of you. Finally, I am filled with gratitude for all the karmic conditions that have brought us here. Namo Amituofo. Zhuang Yufeng, with palms joined in reverence."
