Interview with Shao Genhuo (Founder of Dabeinong Group)
The heart of an innocent child is clear, transparent, and completely honest. When you possess such a heart, you are free from the burdens of attachment and worry. Your heart becomes open and sincere, allowing the true nature of reality to manifest without obstruction. This state of clarity is the foundation of our spiritual journey, where the heart is no longer clouded by the dust of worldly concerns.
When this light of clarity shines, it illuminates the shadows of our past. You may find that your past actions have left imprints that now manifest as coming to seek balance. When you encounter these challenges, do not be discouraged. Instead, use this moment to practise sincere repenting. True repenting is not merely feeling regret; it is the firm resolve to never repeat the same mistake again. By acknowledging your past errors and committing to a path of purity, you transform these karmic obstacles into opportunities for growth.
Clarity acts as a beacon, breaking through the darkness of ignorance. Realising one's state of an awakened being is not a distant or impossible goal; it is closer than you think. When your heart is pure and your thoughts are clear, your inherent Wisdom will naturally manifest. This Wisdom has always been within you, never truly lost or separated from your being. It is only because you have been obscured by layers of delusion that you cannot see it. If you search for it with a sincere heart, you will find that it has been there all along, waiting to be rediscovered.
Consider a pond with water so clear that you can see all the way to the bottom. If a few fallen leaves drift onto the surface, they may block your view of the depths. However, the leaves and the water exist simultaneously. You do not need to fight the leaves; you simply need to let them be. This is the essence of following the natural flow of life—accepting the cycle of arising and ceasing without attachment. By maintaining your meditative concentration, you ensure that these external ripples do not disturb the stillness within your heart. In this state of calm, you remain free and at ease, regardless of the circumstances around you.
