Rectifying Body and Mind
Interview with Dr. Helmut Sohmen (Former Chairman of BW Group)
During this recent visit, Skanda has gained a deeper and more profound understanding of the intricate mysteries of the human body through observing the dedicated practice of Practitioner Su. The core lesson imparted is this: the mind possesses the inherent power to master , rather than being enslaved or controlled by its physical limitations. This is the fundamental truth that Practitioner Su emphasises during his daily talks. However, if we cast our gaze upon the world today, we must ask ourselves: how many individuals—even among those who identify as practitioners—can truly achieve this level of absolute mastery? Most people in this world are entirely governed and dominated by their physical forms. Because they are bound by the heavy weight of their , they are destined to experience the relentless cycle of birth, aging, sickness, and death. When these inevitable trials of life arise, they view them as natural, unavoidable occurrences and suffer through them, shackled by the weight of their own karmic debts. In stark contrast, Practitioner Su has demonstrated that the states of being free from aging, free from sickness, and free from death are not mere abstract concepts. They are tangible realities that can be achieved once one has broken free from the control of karma and successfully realised one's true self. It is because Practitioner Su embodies these teachings through his own rigorous practice and personal verification that his words carry such immense weight and can be accepted with conviction by others.
For the past week, Practitioner Su has been using a vacuum device to assist in the of various beings—insects, small creatures, and other life forms—that had attached themselves to his body. These beings were drawn to him through his use of his to seek rain and perform Chao Du. Upon closer inspection, it is clear that the beings removed are not limited to those who arrived during this recent rain-seeking mission. They also include many spirits that Practitioner Su has helped over the past twenty years—spirits that had attached themselves to him but were not yet ready for full Chao Du. The reason these attached spirits remained quiet and caused no disturbance is that they had already been assimilated by Practitioner Su into a state of purity and goodness. They were no longer causing any harm to his physical form.
Had it not been for the unusual redness and itching that appeared on Practitioner Su's skin, which led to a temporary pause in allowing these beings to enter his body, the process might have continued indefinitely. Given the infinite capacity of Practitioner Su's mind and his unwavering vow to save all suffering beings, he would have continued to lead the earth and all these tiny creatures in chanting to seek rain. Consequently, the phenomenon of spiritual attachment would have likely persisted. This serves as a perfect example of the mind mastering the body, rather than the mind being enslaved by the body's needs. Even now, with the physical intake of these beings paused, Practitioner Su has placed four large memorial tablets in the space. This allows any insects, animals, or other beings who wish to seek Chao Du to enter the tablets directly and proceed to the of Ultimate Bliss. This skillful means demonstrates, without reservation, the boundless of one who refuses to abandon a single being.
This situation perfectly illustrates what Practitioner Su has often mentioned during his study of the teachings: within the fifty trillion cells of the human body, the space inside each individual cell is infinite. However, the body's actual capacity for physical endurance and tolerance is limited, which is why various symptoms manifest when that capacity is exceeded. When such symptoms occur in an ordinary person, seeking medical intervention is the standard path; this is simply the unfolding of one's karmic destiny. Yet, for Practitioner Su, these issues are not addressed through medical channels. Instead, they are resolved through the process of Resolving conflicts with through mediation and spiritual deliverance, supplemented by the use of the vacuum device to remove the attached spirits. Today, his symptoms have significantly improved, and the skin cells that were previously affected by the interference of these spirits are showing ideal signs of recovery.
When we look closely at these recovering skin cells, we see that despite the interference and damage they endured, their inherent capacity has not been diminished in the slightest. On the contrary, because they have undergone this rigorous process, their defensive capabilities and resistance have been significantly strengthened. This is tangible proof that the body has not aged due to the invasion of illness. This is certainly not the body of a seventy-six-year-old man. If an ordinary person of that age were subjected to such illnesses, even with the best medical treatment, they would struggle to return to their previous state of health. If such a recovery were to occur, it would be considered a miracle for a young person, let alone an elderly one. Yet, it has occurred in the body of Practitioner Su. This is because his cells carry the activated, positive, and powerful energy of compassion, rather than the aging, weakened energy of ordinary life. This serves as a powerful verification of the fact that the body can indeed remain free from the ravages of aging.
Skanda Bodhisattva and all the Dharma protectors feel a profound sense of admiration for this achievement. We shall continue to carry out this mission with the utmost dedication.
