Teachings recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe.
On the twenty-eighth of August, 2021, provided these essential teachings on the nature of true practice and the cultivation of clarity.
Why do we engage in practice? The fundamental purpose is to understand the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, and to remove the darkness of ignorance that clouds our vision. To achieve this, we must actively work to correct our wrong views and perspectives. We must be willing to change our latent habits or bad character traits that have long held us back. Only when we enter a state of true purity can we become an awakened being and effectively save beings from the cycle of rebirth.
Practice is not a part-time endeavour; it must be clear at every moment. If your heart is clear, your body is clear, and your spirit is clear, then you can truly say that you have attained clarity. This is the standard by which a practitioner measures their progress. When the heart, body, and spirit are aligned in this state of purity, the light of the original nature begins to shine through.
Cultivating clarity means practising until you can see the Truth and the reality of all things. You must not be led astray by illusions or delusions. Everything depends on how you put in the work within your own heart. When you are truly focused, you will not be swayed by the external world. You will not be influenced by the dark environments that surround you, and you will not create negative . Because you do not create negative karma, you will not have to taste the bitter fruits of suffering.
Clarity is the key that allows you to solve your problems and understand both the principles and the phenomena of the world. When you are free from disturbance and suffering, you can continue your diligent practice with a steady mind. Do not abandon your practice, and do not violate the Truth. When you act in this way, you advance. When you do not violate the Truth, you can see the reality of the universe. Continue this path until you reach the state of an awakened being. This is what it means to be a true practitioner.
