The Boundless Reach of the

The lectures and teachings provided by Practitioner Su at Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre are not confined to the physical realm. They resonate throughout the entire Dharma Realm, and they are heard wherever the of Practitioner Su performs the work of . Sentient beings have become accustomed to gathering at the temple or in their own locations at designated times to listen to these teachings. Every time one listens to the Dharma, one is able to receive profound benefits from it.

The reality of the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way is vast and boundless. The reach of the Buddha’s teachings is equally infinite. Does this not also apply to the small universe that is our own body? Within us, there are fifty trillion cells, each representing a sentient being. If we view every karmic creditor residing within our body as an inhabitant of this small universe, then our physical form is truly a vast cosmos in itself. Therefore, if you wish to begin your practice of purification, you must start with this universe—your own body.

The Transformative Power of Listening

Listening to sutras and hearing the Dharma is of paramount importance for the process of purification. When Practitioner Su delivers a lecture, if the fourfold assembly of disciples listens with sincerity and focus, they can inspire the fifty trillion cells within their own bodies to listen as well. By doing so, these cells can come to understand the Truth, undergo purification, and become willing to accept resolution and Chao Du. Similarly, when spirits throughout the Dharma Realm listen to the lectures of Practitioner Su, if they are receptive, it increases their opportunity to accept Chao Du when the time comes. Thus, listening to sutras and hearing the Dharma is essential for saving the world and rescuing sentient beings. This is true for the small universe within each individual, and it is equally true for the great universe of the Dharma Realm.

To save beings from the highest levels of the heavens down to the depths of the hells, one must personally reach . One must possess deep Meditation (Concentration), even amidst the movement of daily life, and the ability to observe the conditions of others and act accordingly. Only with such profound skills can one have the capacity to transform and save such stubborn and resistant beings.

The Path of Change and Resolution

The depth of the benefits one receives from the Buddha’s teachings depends entirely on how much one’s heart changes after being nurtured and purified by the Dharma. It depends on whether one can patiently and consistently listen to the teachings and commit to personal transformation. Even when it comes to minor issues or small shortcomings, one must not be careless. You must be willing to change your ways. Only then will the sentient beings within you be willing to resolve their grievances, and only then will the effect of purifying your own body be realised.

The karmic causes and conditions described in the Buddha’s teachings are complex. Before one has achieved success in meditative concentration, whether the interactions between these causes will manifest depends on the karmic connections formed in past lives. For those with deep karmic connections, the reaction is instantaneous, and great effort is required to sever the cycle. For those with shallow connections, a simple observation or reminder is enough to resolve the situation. Those who understand these truths can see them clearly, change immediately, and receive the benefits of the Dharma on the spot. Conversely, those who are confused and clouded may be reminded many times yet remain unable to wake up. Such individuals need to practise listening to the Dharma even more diligently to clear away their obstacles. Only then will they be willing to improve, and only then will the sentient beings within them be willing to resolve their conflicts, allowing them to receive the benefits of the Dharma.

The Legacy of the Ancestral Masters

Although some may not be able to change as quickly as those who have already reached a state of clarity, they are at least given the opportunity to wake up and improve. This is why and patience are required when teaching sentient beings; without these, it is difficult to achieve any real effect in one’s efforts to educate and transform others. Practitioner Su deeply understands this principle. Throughout history, every ancestral master and venerable being who has achieved Awakening has dedicated their entire life to lecturing and teaching the Dharma. They have transformed everything they knew, learned, heard, and realised into words and language to teach sentient beings. They do not let time pass in vain, ensuring that those who listen gain something, allowing them to take steps toward change until they, too, reach Awakening. To reach Awakening is to become a true successor of the Buddha, thereby honouring the Buddha’s grace. This noble work is currently being carried out by Practitioner Su and the fourfold assembly at the temple.

The Ongoing Work of Inviting Spirits

The work of inviting spirits into of Practitioner Su continues. The number of sentient beings involved is beyond what one could ever imagine. Some of these spirits have been attached to Practitioner Su for over twenty years. Yet, after entering the body of Practitioner Su, most have been transformed by his compassion and have not caused any harm to his physical form. It is only now, because of the need to invite them out, that the past dynamics of these beings have been reactivated, which has caused Practitioner Su to experience some physical injury. Fortunately, the energy within Practitioner Su is able to slow down and contain the scope of this injury, preventing further harm. If the fourfold assembly of disciples can cultivate themselves and adjust their own state to be like that of Practitioner Su, they too will be able to remain undisturbed by sentient beings, resolve conflicts, and invite spirits out at any time, thereby reaching a higher level on the path of practice.
