This is a record of an interview with Mo Yawei, a Primordial Demon who has existed for 7,970 trillion years. He sought spiritual deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Nature. This interview was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on February 17, 2025.

Mo Yawei speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Mo Yawei. Everything that has transpired recently has happened with such velocity that I find it almost impossible to believe. If it were not for the Causal Conditions that brought me here to Practitioner Su, and the fact that I was subsequently captured and brought into this interview, I would never have realised that I have been a demon for 7,970 trillion years. I had not even noticed how rapidly time had slipped away, nor did I pay any heed to the relentless march of the ages.

In the vast, dark expanse of the Dharma Realm, we possess no concept of time. Naturally, we do not pay attention to its passage, as there is no sun to rise or set, no seasons to turn, and no aging to mark our progress. However, when I was suddenly asked to state how long I had been a demon, I had to calculate it using Earth's temporal standards. It was only then that I realised I had been trapped within the Demon Realm for 7,970 trillion years. It is an incredibly long duration, a span of time that defies the comprehension of most beings. That I could remain a demon for such an epoch is something I find difficult to fathom even now, as if I have been asleep in a dream of darkness for an eternity.

The Unexpected Evolution of Earth

I remember when the Earth was first forming, a chaotic, molten sphere of potential. I visited it back then, curious about this new cradle of life. I circled the planet perhaps three times, and then I left. I had no intention of staying, as I did not believe there was anything of value to be gained on such a world. It seemed too primitive, too fragile. But now, I regret that decision. I truly never expected that after all this time, the Earth would undergo such a profound transformation. What surprises me most is that there are humans on Earth capable of subduing the demons of our realm—and not just little demons, but great demons, old demons, and even ancient demons like myself.

The human who can deal with our demon crowds is called Practitioner Su. I have been reflecting on this deeply: no matter how ancient or powerful a demon may be in our realm, Practitioner Su seems to have the means to subdue them. It is simply that he has not yet encountered the oldest among us. It is only a matter of time. When he eventually meets those primordial entities, they will undoubtedly become his defeated subjects. This is a truly earth-shattering event, a shift in the balance of the Dharma Realm that none of us could have predicted.

The Futility of My Challenge

I did not come to Earth this time to sightsee; I came to challenge Practitioner Su. I had heard of his skills, but I could not believe that I, Mo Yawei, would lose to him. I told myself that since I had been a demon for so long, I had to test my strength against him to see if my years of cultivation were worth anything. If I could not even defeat Practitioner Su, then it would mean that all these years of being a demon were in vain, and my ambitions to conquer territory were nothing more than a fantasy. I felt a burning need to prove my superiority, to show that my existence had meaning beyond mere destruction.

Many demons share this sentiment. We have all heard of Practitioner Su's power. Because many demons have encountered him before, they have shared their experiences with us. From the accounts of the Demon Kings, ancient demons, and old demons who have crossed paths with him, it is clear that Practitioner Su is formidable—not someone we can easily overcome. However, we demons possess a stubborn nature. Unless we encounter him personally and test our strength against his, we simply refuse to believe it. We are driven by a pride that blinds us to the truth until it is far too late.

The Speed of Spiritual Deliverance

Before I arrived on Earth, I remained in the Dharma Realm, searching for traces of Practitioner Su to gauge his true capabilities. Several times, I actually found him, but by the time I arrived at the scene, he was already on the verge of leaving. I did not launch an attack immediately because I knew that acting impulsively would ruin everything. I chose to gather intelligence first, waiting until I had the upper hand. I intended to finish him off in one decisive strike rather than dragging it out, as I valued efficiency above all else.

I was very proactive in my reconnaissance, which I began months ago. Do you know what I discovered? Every report confirmed that Practitioner Su had progressed again. He had entered yet another stage of his practice. Every piece of news was a 'good' report for him, but for us, it was the worst possible news, as it meant his skills were becoming even more potent. When Practitioner Su first entered the Dharma Realm, he was already capable of saving a vast number of demons. Now, the number of demons and spirits he can save from the various spaces is uncountable—it is truly staggering.

The spaces are layered one upon another, stacked in complex, chaotic configurations. Regardless of how many layers there are, or how tangled these spaces might be, the moment Practitioner Su arrives, he uses his Dharma power to open them all and save every demon and sentient being within. How fast is his spiritual deliverance? He does not save them one space at a time; he saves them all at once. With a single act of spiritual deliverance, he opens every space, and in less than a second, every spirit is saved. It is a display of power that leaves one breathless.

The Mystery of the Human Vessel

When I first witnessed this, I was genuinely terrified. How could he be so fast? Later, I tried to imitate him, attempting to bring all the spirits before me into my own demon palace. I failed. I remember trying over ten thousand times, yet I could not succeed. Even when there were only three spirits before me, I could not send them all into my palace at once. I was astonished. How could I fail when Practitioner Su did it so effortlessly? And he was not dealing with three spirits, but with billions, trillions, or even more. To him, it was nothing. One act of spiritual deliverance, and they were all sent into the Western Land of Dharma Nature, leaving their original spaces behind.

At that moment, I truly admired him. I dare say my mind-capacity is greater than that of other demons, which is why I could appreciate his skill. Other demons, seeing a technique they did not possess, would refuse to admire him, claiming they were not incapable, but simply had not yet exerted themselves. I knew clearly that I lacked such ability, but I am not a demon who gives up easily. I am determined to learn until I master it. That is why I am a renowned ancient demon in the Dharma Realm, with high-level skills. Yet, this time, I met an enemy I could not defeat. I spent a long time trying to learn his technique, hiding nearby whenever he entered the Dharma Realm, but I could not grasp it. I was shocked that such a thing could happen, but it did.

The Purity of Practitioner Su

Not long ago, I tried to visit Earth to see Practitioner Su in person. I wanted to see how he differed from other humans. When I looked, I was startled. He is truly different. Let me speak of humans on Earth: I was shocked by how severely their bodies are being exploited. When I first arrived on Earth eons ago, humans were still very simple, and their bodies were clean. I decided to leave then because there was nothing for me to exploit. But now, the state of humans is a world of difference. I can say with certainty that not a single human is truly in control of themselves.

It is not just the humans who are shocked; I am too. How did they let themselves become like this? I observed their bodies closely. Each person is filled with many spirits. These spirits control the human flesh, forcing them to act according to their whims. It seems rare for a human to be the master of their own body. Why is it so easy for these bodies to be invaded? It is as if does not belong to them at all. After my observations, I found the primary cause: the personalities and desires of humans. Their desires allow spirits and demons with similar cravings to approach them easily and enter their bodies.

Every human I saw was filled with spirits, especially demons from our realm. Every single one of them. Is this not a terrifying state of affairs? Do these humans even know they are alive? Do they know what they are doing? In my view, their own spirits are likely unaware, as their bodies are entirely manipulated by others. They may not even know what is happening to them day to day. However, when I looked at Practitioner Su, it was completely different. His body is incredibly translucent and clean. I did not see a multitude of spirits within him; his body was not being 'used' by others.

A Final Surrender to the Dharma

Why is Practitioner Su able to achieve this? I continued to observe. I discovered that Practitioner Su is single-mindedly focused on helping sentient beings. Unlike other humans, he lacks the complex personalities, desires, and attachments to worldly affairs that I saw in everyone else. Because those things are absent in him, his body remains clean and does not attract spirits with similar cravings. Furthermore, he performs spiritual deliverance every day. His only goal is to help beings obtain deliverance. With no other mental notes, his body is naturally and constantly purified. As the saying goes, 'helping others is helping oneself.' By saving so many spirits, his own body and spirit are simultaneously elevated.

I would never have known this had I not come to Earth. I did not realise that Practitioner Su's true nature was so pure. No wonder he has the skill to enter the Dharma Realm and save us all. Shortly after I arrived on Earth, I encountered many other old and ancient demons from the Dharma Realm who had also come. They invited me to join them in attacking Practitioner Su. At that moment, a thought arose—a thought I really should not have had, but it surfaced nonetheless: 'Can we really defeat Practitioner Su?'

I did not intend to have this thought, but because I had already developed such immense admiration for his skills and felt I could not win, it arose naturally. The result? It was proven that we truly could not win. Practitioner Su resolved us with such speed, sending us all into the Western Land of Dharma Nature. We were not ordinary demons; we were very old demons. The moment he sent us into the Western Land of Dharma Nature, the demonic power in the entire space vanished. The sky erupted in seven-coloured light, and the clouds turned into a rainbow. It signified that the Buddha's power had subdued the demonic power, bringing forth a state of perfect peace. Now, I sincerely admire Practitioner Su. He is truly extraordinary. I am willing to start anew and learn alongside him."
