Teachings from Namo Amituofo, recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, on the seventh of July, 2023.

The Eternal Compass of Existence

What is the Truth? It is the reality of existence, which involves a clear and profound understanding of the cause and effect () of good and evil. It is the fundamental nature of the universe that remains constant, regardless of our limited .

What is the Right Way? It is the righteous path that guides our hearts and actions, ensuring we remain steadfast and far removed from the influence of demonic beings. By following this path, we align ourselves with the natural order of the universe.

The Tapestry of Diverse Beings

Beings are trapped in the six realms of rebirth, endlessly cycling through existence. Within this cycle, every being possesses a unique character and set of behaviours. Because our hearts and actions differ so greatly, the paths we walk are often distinct. If beings on the same path have such varied natures, it is only natural that the differences between beings on entirely different paths are even more profound.

Consider the human world and the animal realm. Although they may exist within the same physical environment, their characters and behaviours are vastly different. Even among human beings, the variations in character and conduct are significant. Amidst this immense diversity, there must be a common standard that all can follow to maintain harmony and progress. This standard is the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. This is the fundamental law of the universe; it operates naturally and is not something created by any individual.

Navigating the World and the Infinite

While the laws and regulations established by people in this world are necessary for social order and must be respected by all, they are distinct from the higher laws of the universe. From the perspective of the heart, those who abide by these laws demonstrate a willingness to live in harmony with others, ensuring that they do not cause harm. However, in terms of our actions, there is more to consider than just worldly legal recognition. We must also measure our conduct against the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.

The Wisdom of the Awakened

Those who have realised their true nature have successfully removed defilements and attained purity, thereby walking the path to attain Buddhahood. Because all Buddhas walk the same path, these awakened beings possess the wisdom to apply the effectively when they save beings. They can observe the capacity of the individual, the nature of the person, and the timing of the situation to act accordingly. This ability to flow naturally with the Dharma is a skillful means used to save and teach beings. Crucially, this flexibility never violates the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. This is the profound benefit of having realised one's true nature.

The Journey of Purification

The purpose of our practice is to realise our true nature. To achieve this, one must diligently apply the skills of purification to remove defilements. This is the essential process of practice. If you can encounter any situation with a sense of and act selflessly for the benefit of all beings, you will be able to walk firmly upon the Truth and the Right Way, successfully overcoming every obstacle you face.

At Hsiang Kuang: A Sacred Sanctuary, you are blessed with the presence of Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su, who walk alongside you on this journey. You must cherish this rare opportunity.
