The nineteenth day of the Yilan seminar, ' the Life-Heart, Living a New Life,' brings us a profound discourse from . To embrace a brand-new life, you must first ensure that your inner state is filled with brilliance and vitality. Many people carry the weight of past sorrows, but you must realise that these burdens are not the ultimate truth. They are merely passing clouds that obscure your inner light. When you choose to fill your heart with radiance, you create the necessary space for a new beginning to take root within your Body-Mind-Spirit.
Consider the birth of a new life. A newborn arrives in this world without the baggage of memory or the clutter of complex, wandering thoughts. They are entirely focused on the present—every minute and every second is lived with total presence and awareness. This is the essence of a pure heart and a clean life. We all began our journey in this state of innocence and clarity. It is a state where the true self is cool, calm, and unburdened by the dust of the world.
However, as we journey through this world, we often accumulate heavy burdens. We chase after the , and in doing so, we accelerate our own decline and exhaustion. When you harbour too many intentions, cravings, and attachments, your heart loses its natural coolness and clarity. Consequently, your life becomes weary and burdened. You must ask yourself: are you truly living, or are you merely carrying the weight of your own attachments? The more you cling to the world, the more difficult it becomes to maintain the peace of your original nature.
My child, you must strive to rediscover the original appearance of your life. Imagine the vibrant green of a meadow in spring—this is the vitality you should possess. Think of the small blade of grass, growing with such positive, pure, and unyielding strength. It does not worry about the future or regret the past; it simply grows. This is a state of being that every one of you should learn to cultivate. The truth of life is not found in heavy burdens or endless worries. It is found in the simple, pure power to live—a strength that is free from the weight of worldly attachments. May you find this lightness of heart and walk the path of awakening with . Namo Amituofo.
