An Interview with the Former Prime Minister of Singapore
Recorded on July 13, 2018
This is a record of an interview with the late Lee Kuan Yew, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his observations from the spiritual realm. Recorded by the disciple Haipin on July 13, 2018.
Lee Kuan Yew speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Lee Kuan Yew. In the world of the living, filmmakers often create imaginative stories about the future—tales of interstellar warfare, extraterrestrial beings, or advanced technology. They do not realise that these cinematic themes are, in fact, realities existing within the vast expanse of our universe. Humanity simply lacks the capacity to explore these realms, so they remain confined to the flickering screens of our cinemas. The universe is far more complex than the human mind can currently fathom.
The Cosmic Reality of Deliverance
Every morning, I observe Practitioner Su’s morning deliverance sessions. They unfold like a rapid-fire film, flashing before my eyes with incredible speed. I witness scenes of profound and liberation playing out across the boundless reaches of the universe, day after day. It is a spectacle of that transcends the limitations of time and space.
I have attained Buddhahood. With the help of Practitioner Su, I have fulfilled the good causal conditions of my life. I hear every detail of the development of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. At times, I find myself stamping my feet in frustration, feeling powerless because I lack the physical strength to intervene or contribute directly to the temple’s noble work.
A Father's Hope for His Son
Practitioner Su has attained Buddhahood by silently performing Goodness, never seeking recognition. Singapore may be a small nation, but it is complete in every way. If my son, Hsien Loong, is willing, I believe his boldness in action could rival the stature of any great power. That is the nature of true boldness—a trait my son inherited from me. The problem is that he lacks a close advisor, someone who can bridge the gap and present the Great and my own words in a way that he can truly hear, accept, and act upon with conviction.
I understand that all things must follow established principles. I am determined to contribute to the Great Dharma of . I pray for the Buddha's , hoping that my thoughts, which occupy my mind day and night, might manifest into reality. I long for the opportunity to repay the Buddha's kindness, the kindness of Practitioner Su, and the kindness of all beings. I will not be discouraged. Day after day, I will continue to send my thoughts to my son. Namo Amituofo!"
