When the spirit awakens, the earth flourishes with life. This represents the manifestation of vitality in all things. When this vitality manifests, you must diligently nurture it, allowing it to reach its greatest potential and utility. Vitality is an extending force and capacity, much like the trees of spring, vibrant and green. You must make good use of this time to give your life the opportunity to exert its strength.
If you lose this vitality, you are like a withered tree in winter. Without the strength to stand tall, you can only surrender to the biting winter winds. You must protect the inner warmth of your practice against the cold of worldly distractions.

Diligently practising your spiritual achievements is your fundamental duty; it is what you ought to do. It is the opportunity to realise your true nature and the blessing for all beings.
