An Exhortation to Cherish Time and Practice

The Preciousness of Every Moment

My dear child, you must learn to cherish every inch of time. Once a second or even a fraction of a moment passes, it is gone forever, never to return. How many lifetimes have we already squandered in vain? We have drifted aimlessly through the currents of this illusory world, lost in the cycle of being reincarnated. It is time to awaken from this long slumber and recognise the urgency of our situation.

The Rare Opportunity at Hsiang Kuang

The Dharma affinity we have found here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is not easily attained. Practitioner Su has worked with tireless diligence to save the suffering spirits of this world. Think of the immense effort and the countless hours of devotion that have been poured into this work. It is this profound dedication that has brought forth the manifestation of this sacred Buddha-land today, providing a sanctuary for all who seek the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.

Transforming Karma and Avoiding Samsara

I urge you to quickly transform your past karma. When the laws of karma and cause and effect manifest as the inevitable sufferings of aging, sickness, and death, you must be prepared. If you are caught in these sufferings without the protection of the Dharma, you will be pulled back into the cycle of being reincarnated. It would be a great tragedy for a practitioner of the Pure Land path to lose their way after having come so close to the truth.

The Living Path of the Buddha-Name

Let the Buddha-name, Namo Amituofo, turn incessantly within your heart. Let the Buddha-heart be revealed through your every action. Let the Buddha-vow be your guide, for it is the vow to help all beings leave suffering behind. Make your vows, and if you are sincere, you shall fulfil them and journey to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I counsel you to let go of the past so that your heart may be reborn. Transform your life completely, and your body will find new life. True practice is the offering of your entire body, mind, and spirit.
