Awakening from the Digital Web

This is a record of an interview with the being known as Shuangxue, an ancient demon from the Milky Way who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now reflects upon his long history of manipulating human consciousness. This testimony was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on July 10, 2024.

Demon Shuangxue speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Shuangxue. Humans live such incredibly dull lives. Because of this, their physical bodies are always craving things that provide a sense of stimulation. These intense sensations trigger chemical reactions in the human body, giving them a sense of pleasure, excitement, and happiness—a feeling far removed from their mundane daily existence. This is precisely why it is so easy for them to become addicted."

The Illusion of Temporary Pleasure

"We never intended for humanity to find lasting happiness; that was never our goal. What we sought was to provide them with a fleeting moment of pleasure, which would then be exchanged for permanent suffering. If humans truly understood that the ultimate outcome of these pursuits was a long, drawn-out agony, would anyone still choose to chase that momentary thrill?"

"Yes, there are still those who would choose to do so," a demon descendant immediately replied to me.

I asked this descendant: "Why?"

He answered: "Because humans live in such profound misery."

He was right. So many people live in such deep pain every single day that they reach a point where they no longer wish to exist. Therefore, if there is something right in front of them that offers even a temporary escape—even if it guarantees more suffering later—they are willing to accept it. They are simply unable to go on living, and the most important thing to them is finding a breath of air, a moment of respite, no matter the cost.

The Cycle of Selfishness

"We see so many such humans, mostly between the ages of twenty and fifty. However, we have noticed a downward trend in age; we now see children around fifteen years old already in this state. They feel hopeless about life and have lost all passion for existence. This state eventually leads to endless suffering, leaving them gasping for air.

Why must people live with such bitterness? After observing so many humans, we have concluded that this suffering stems from having too many desires, too many attachments, and too much overthinking. In short, it is all rooted in 'selfishness'.

If a person pours all their energy into themselves, thinking only of their own needs and rarely considering others—or, to put it bluntly, if they see only themselves and no one else—then they are undoubtedly selfish, and they are certainly unhappy.

But is this something they choose to do? That is not necessarily the case.

The human body is quite unique, and its most distinct feature is how easily it can be controlled. This characteristic is the greatest draw for us. Because the human body is easily manipulated, and the human heart further drives their bodies to be even more susceptible to control, it becomes a perfect trap."

The Vicious Cycle of Control

"I believe no human truly wants to be controlled, yet they are uniquely vulnerable to it. The reason is exactly what I mentioned before: 'selfishness.' They are controlled because of their selfishness, and because they are controlled, they become even more selfish. It becomes a vicious cycle.

Humans rarely see their own selfish hearts. They do not fully grasp how much this selfishness impacts them because it has become so habitual. Especially when everyone is selfish and accustomed to thinking only of themselves, people naturally stop viewing selfishness as a serious issue. They begin to think it is nothing special, just a normal way of life.

We seize upon these human weaknesses, and humans quickly become our puppets. We manipulate them to satisfy our own needs and to increase our demonic power, which is why we came to Earth in the first place.

Today, not a single human on Earth has complete mastery over their own body. Everyone is, to some degree, influenced and interfered with by other forces. Because of these forces, their bodies cannot fully follow the guidance of their own spirits. Most people are completely unaware of the true situation within their own bodies because they cannot use medical science to see the existence of these forces. Yet, their bodies often suffer precisely because of these interferences—perhaps through illness, or through the hijacking of their mental state.

We demons are one of those forces. We exist within many people's bodies and across many different spaces."

The Digital Web of Manipulation

"I have been on Earth for about a thousand years. The reason I came here was the attraction of the human body. I knew clearly that human bodies could be controlled by our demonic power, just as I described, and I knew that once we controlled them, we could elevate our own power. That is why so many demons have flocked to Earth, all wanting to achieve something here.

In the last few decades, my development reached its peak. The key reason was that I began to control humans through a new channel. I was fortunate to have chosen the right method, which allowed my demonic nature to be greatly enhanced.

You might be curious about what method I chose to control humans, but perhaps you have already guessed. Yes, it is the 'Internet.'

The degree of human dependence on the Internet is akin to the importance of 'air.' It has become an indispensable element. Humans cannot live without air, and modern humans cannot live properly without their computers and devices.

Modern humans rely on the Internet for everything, making their lives completely digitized and technological. Although there are still some remote places that retain their original simplicity and purity, we can say that this is only temporary. Our power is rapidly infiltrating, and those places will one day be conquered by us, because our goal is the entire Earth, not just these people and these places as they are now."

The Living Dead

"Look at many young people today. They speak in a listless, lethargic manner. They look completely drained, lacking any energy or vitality. Their families cook all sorts of tonics and medicines for them, but no matter what they eat, they do not get better. They remain in the same state, walking around like the 'living dead.'

Why does this happen? The answer is simple: these people have become our puppets. Their bodies have been occupied, and their spirits have long been dragged into the digital world. All that remains is a shell living in the world. Of course, this shell still belongs to them, so there are still certain connections to their physical lives. But beyond that, many of their decisions are not made by them at all; they are made under intense interference, and they are highly likely to make choices that harm their own Body-Mind-Spirit.

I entered the digital world and used the demonic nature within the network to control these humans. The feeling of having humanity in the palm of my hand is quite wonderful—it is effortless, easy, and achieves exactly the results I desire.

Look at how many people are unable to tear themselves away from their computers. Their surroundings are often in a state of utter chaos, and they themselves may not have bathed for days. They are crazily intoxicated by their own digital worlds, completely indifferent to everything in reality.

We want them to be this indifferent. So indifferent that, in the end, even when their physical health flashes red and serious problems arise, they still do not care. Many young people develop diabetes because they sit in front of their computers all day, too lazy to eat proper meals. They let themselves eat whatever is convenient, drink sugary beverages, order takeout, and never go outside to get sunlight or exercise. Naturally, their bodies develop massive problems, but they simply do not care."

A Sudden Awakening

"We have been invading humanity rapidly, but recently we encountered immense resistance. This resistance came from Practitioner Su of this Centre. I do not know how, but Practitioner Su suddenly discovered the harm our digital world was inflicting on humanity and used his Dharma power to enter our digital realm. At first, we thought we could resist Practitioner Su, but I never expected his power to be so immense. In a very short time, he took away a great many Demon Kings.

I, too, have fallen to this place. I am very unwilling to accept it, yet I have no choice. When I chose to accept it, my heart finally calmed down. Looking at the Buddha, and looking at everything I had created, I suddenly felt a sense of repentance. I realized that I must face the truth and change completely."
