Namo Amituofo's discourse:
Demons were once human beings. They carried intense personal ego, selfishness, and habits throughout their lives. Often, they passed away while consumed by burning anger or deep-seated resentment. Because their character was in sync with the demon nature, they were drawn into the Demon Realm.
The demon arises from intense personal ego, selfishness, and habits. When anger or resentment manifest, they act as a beacon, attracting external demon crowds to enter and create interference and obstacles. Alternatively, from the Demon Realm already residing within the body may manifest to seek revenge. This makes the practice difficult to achieve.
Practice is the process of removing these difficult personal ego, selfishness, habits, subjectivity, and attachments one by one. When these are removed, the demon crowds have no place to manifest, and purification can finally appear. Greed, anger, delusion, arrogance, and doubt, along with the of wealth, lust, fame, food, and sleep, are all in resonance with the demon mind. In our practice, we must change and sever these attachments to bid farewell to the demon mind.
We must use , Wisdom, mind-capacity, and inclusivity to bid farewell to the demon mind, ensuring that the demon has no way to manifest. We must change our personality traits and bad habits to bid farewell to the demon mind, so that the demon stays far away. We must use gentleness and sincerity to bid farewell to the demon mind, so that the demon is no more.
We must use chanting Buddha's name and diligent practice to bid farewell to the demon mind, so that the demon knows to repent. We must use no-mind and no-thought to bid farewell to the demon mind, so that the demon knows to retreat. Namo Amituofo.
