Great Strides on the Path to Awakening

During the second session of the Thrice Yearning Ceremony, we are reminded of the profound significance of our spiritual journey. Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju offers these words of guidance to all who seek the path of liberation.

The Sacred Sanctuary of Hsiang Kuang

At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, we are called to take great strides in our practice. This is a place where we advance through the True Teachings, correct knowledge, and correct mindfulness. Namo Amituofo is residing here. With Namo Amituofo leading the way and our teachers by our side, we are never alone. Practitioner Su is always present, adjusting the path with flexibility to ensure we remain on course in our spiritual development.

The Protection of the Dharma

Layers of Dharma protectors safeguard the temple, Practitioner Su, and the fourfold assembly of disciples. It is rare to encounter such a place of practice in this world. Your body, mind, and spirit are nurtured here in an environment that is magnificent, pure, and truly extraordinary. It is like practising in a secluded, sacred forest, like being in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, and like living within the presence of the True Teachings of the Buddha.

The Cradle of Awakening

This centre is the cradle of Awakening. In this world, it is a rare blessing to have such a sanctuary. Here, we learn to subdue demonic enemies and attain the subtle, profound Dharma. By giving birth to good roots, we are able to destroy all demonic armies. This is how the salvation team is formed. Every word of the Buddha and our teachers is clear and bright. When you follow these messages, you can take great strides forward, eventually seeing the truth and realising your true self.

Breaking Through Limitations

As the space of your consciousness opens, you will come to understand the suffering of all sentient beings. This realisation should inspire you to take even more courageous strides. Break through your self-imposed limitations, and your true self will manifest. If you fall back into the cycle of rebirth, this life will have been wasted. We suffer as we drift in and out of samsara, finding it difficult to escape. Students of Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, you must be diligent. Do not waste the opportunity to practise in this Buddha-land. In this age of the decline of the Dharma, having the protection of the True Teachings is a great blessing for all students and sentient beings. May you all succeed in your wish to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Let us spread the Pure Land teachings far and wide from Hsiang Kuang.
