Heart, Vows, and Actions Follow Amitabha, Spreading Throughout Space and the Dharma Realm
In a single thought, we can either descend into the depths of suffering or ascend to the of . Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, as recorded by Venerable HaiZe, reminds us that the state of our mind determines our entire reality. When our thoughts are skewed, we may experience the torments of the hells, crying out in agony. Yet, when we realise the need to turn toward Right Thought, we enter the land of joy, where our faces shine with smiles.
When our thoughts are skewed, we are consumed by restlessness, anger, and the fires of the heart and body. We lose our inner peace and stability. However, when we turn to Right Thought, we find coolness, peace, and serenity for both body and mind. When our thoughts are skewed, we remain ignorant of the suffering of others and fall into the demon path. We distance ourselves from and Wisdom, clinging to selfishness and a stubborn personality. When we turn to Right Thought, we begin to study the Buddha's path, work to attain Buddhahood, and dedicate ourselves to saving the world and helping all beings leave suffering behind.
When our thoughts are skewed, we fight for dominance, for victory, for being first, and we refuse to admit defeat. This brings immense suffering to ourselves and to the beings within our bodies. We become trapped in this space, sinking deeper into the cycle of reincarnation. How truly painful this is! When we turn to Right Thought, we learn to follow the flow, to let go of competition and force. We walk in silence, wishing for the beings within our bodies to join us in chanting , so that they may no longer suffer and may find their way to the of Ultimate Bliss.
When our thoughts are skewed, a single moment of doubt prevents us from believing in the Buddha. We trust only our own , refusing to change our stubborn personality traits. Consequently, we break the , become drowsy, and fall into lower spaces, continuing to create . This is truly a life of suffering! To turn toward Right Thought, you must summon the boldness and determination to repent, admit your mistakes, and change your ways. You must be diligent and brave in transforming your personality traits. Only then can you overcome the obstacles of your and karma. This is the true meaning of compassion—saving yourself and saving all beings so that everyone may leave suffering behind. Please remember this well.
