Infinite Compassion: Teachings from Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju

The Boundless Heart of Namo Amituofo

Namo Amituofo, the heart that seeks to save all sentient beings is truly immeasurable and boundless. The power to rescue beings is infinite, and the compassion of the Universal Buddha permeates the entire Dharma Realm. Because of this, Namo Amituofo never abandons a single being who seeks the path to the Pure Land.

For ten kalpas, Namo Amituofo has resided in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, leading immeasurable and boundless beings to liberation. There are already countless beings of the Western Land who have been guided to various realms and locations. Through this vast effort, an uncountable number of beings connected by karmic affinity have been helped to leave suffering behind and attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land. Namo Amituofo is the refuge for all beings of the Western Land, and together, we chant the holy name to save others.

The Suffering of the Saha World

Over these ten kalpas, countless beings have been saved, and we are among them. As the Universal Buddha, Namo Amituofo can manifest in immeasurable and boundless forms. He sees and knows all things within the Dharma Realm, and every event is clear to Him without any obstruction. Namo Amituofo perceives the intense suffering of the Saha world, particularly the dense and overwhelming struggles of those on Earth. This sorrow is so profound that it is difficult to describe, yet it is but one small part of the myriad phenomena in the universe.

When Namo Amituofo witnessed the depth of this suffering, He awaited the time for Practitioner Su to enter this world. With the arrival of Practitioner Su, infinite compassion entered the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Through this connection, countless spirits have been able to receive the joy of rebirth in the Western Pure Land, ending their cycle of being reincarnated in the six realms of existence. This is a debt of gratitude that is truly difficult to repay.

The Path of No-Self and the Call to Action

Practitioner Su embodies the principle of no-self and selflessness, allowing the true self to be revealed. Through both physical and verbal teachings, the example is set at every moment. By manifesting the body of Dharma-nature and the vow of compassion, even the demon crowds are subdued and their grievances resolved. This brings immense benefit to countless beings, allowing them to enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is a path that all students of Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre should emulate.

Time passes in the blink of an eye. With Namo Amituofo as our teacher, and guided by the example of Practitioner Su, we look upon the infinite beings still suffering in the cycle of reincarnation. The fourfold assembly must now rise to the occasion. We must carry out the infinite compassion of the Hsiang Kuang path and, together with the Buddha, save all beings and lead them to the Land of the Golden Lotus.
