An Interview with the Spirit of Steve Jobs
Observations on Chao Du and the Nature of Suffering

This is a record of an interview with the spirit of Steve Jobs, who sought Spiritual Deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now observes the workings of the universe and the compassionate deliverance performed by Practitioner Su. This interview was recorded on October 7, 2017.
Steve Jobs speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Steve Jobs. In the vast grasslands of Kashgar in Xinjiang, the cattle, sheep, and horses have immense space to roam. Yet, in a sense, they are also perpetual wanderers, driven from place to place by their masters in a relentless search for the most lush, nutrient-rich pastures to fatten them up. Because of this constant movement, they are physically robust, their muscles taut and strong. Each of them has a role to play. The cattle must eat incessantly so they can be sold for a high price; the sheep must grow their wool quickly; the horses are beasts of burden, carrying heavy loads or people, often exhausted under the weight. They have no choice. None of them can help the other; they can only endure their own roles."
The Panic of the Marketplace
"When we reach the oasis market, the animals destined for sale are selected and marked with various symbols. The owners decide the time is ripe to trade them for money. The cattle, surprisingly, seem to understand their fate. These gentle, honest creatures begin to show panic in their eyes. They do not know what their future holds—will they be slaughtered for meat, or will they be sold to another household to become livestock again, forced to adapt to a new environment and new companions? I see these scenes of the marketplace with absolute clarity. The air is thick with the scent of animals and the pungent body odour of humans. Water is scarce for these nomadic people, so they cherish it, using it primarily for drinking to sustain their basic needs. Though their living conditions are harsh, their hearts are remarkably simple. Aside from haggling over prices, they spend most of their time caring for their animals.
Since I began following Practitioner Su to witness these acts of , I have seen so many different ways of life and the spectrum of human goodness and evil. I have gained so much insight. These people are mostly followers of Islam; they pray only toward the West, without statues of Allah, a practice born of pure sincerity. To ensure these nomadic people could also receive the benefits of the from Namo Amituofo, I visualised Namo Amituofo manifesting as Allah to guide them. Such skillful means are surely acceptable. After the Buddha-light shone upon them, the spirits of many animals transformed into human forms—so many of them! When they were sold at the market, their spirits had remained behind in shock, still appearing as cattle or sheep. I am so relieved that today, we could help them. Once they regained their human bodies, they were dressed in the heavy, traditional nomadic clothing, wearing fur-lined hats. The girls and children had rosy cheeks and were filled with smiles, looking so optimistic. Seeing them like this warmed my heart. I truly hope I can continue to help them."
The Lamas of the Tibetan Highlands
"Moving further into the Tibetan region, I saw many lamas in red robes—adults and children alike. It seems as though every Tibetan man goes through a period of monastic life. I think this is a wonderful thing. Regardless of anything else, at least every person has the opportunity to encounter the Buddha’s teachings in this lifetime, which is a virtuous Causal Condition. Master Changjia stood in the mid-air above the frontier, compassionately receiving sentient beings. Many spaces opened up after the Buddha-light shone upon them. Lamas who were still turning prayer wheels in those dimensions walked out, moved to tears at the sight of Master Changjia. The compassionate Buddha-light shone upon the sky burial sites, restoring the bodies that had been torn apart by vultures, allowing them to walk toward the Master. Even the Word Spirits on the prayer wheels came out to seek Spiritual Deliverance. As our deliverance team departed, I looked back, and the sky returned to its darkness and silence."
The Hidden Suffering of the Cave Spirits
"Today, I accompanied Practitioner Su to perform Chao Du in a mountain cave. We discovered a multitude of spirits inside. The once-dark cave was instantly illuminated. The spirits, who had been in a state of confusion and lethargy, began to wake up. We heard the cries of a child calling for his mother: 'Mother, it is so dark here, it is so terrifying.' I searched for the source of the sound, sensing they needed help, and discovered they were trapped within the crevices of the rocks. I urgently asked the Bodhisattvas of the Universe to help rescue them. Upon asking, I learned they were what people call nail households—those who refused to move to protect their homes. Even though it was just a dilapidated tin shack, it was still their home. When the cave was being developed, the workers were unaware that anyone was still living nearby and used explosives to blast the mountain. The father was out working, and the mother and child were buried alive. Their spirits had been trapped in the soil for who knows how long. There were humans, as well as animals, plants, and various crawling creatures. They were all still trapped in the space of that initial explosion, panicked and fleeing. Some were injured, others were on the verge of death. My heart ached for them. Fortunately, the Buddha’s can restore everyone. This is truly a great blessing. Sometimes, it is difficult to choose between the convenience of modern life and the preservation of the ecosystem, but humans almost always choose convenience. Perhaps we need to be a little more compassionate and find a more balanced way."
The Boundless Power of Deliverance
"Today, Practitioner Su continued to help the Bodhisattvas of the Universe perform Chao Du for their connected sentient beings. The number of beings was overwhelming—truly, it was packed to capacity. Because the Bodhisattvas of the Universe and the Demon Realm were already layered upon layers, and each layer was full, you can imagine how astonishing the scene was. Even Deng Xiaoping, who was standing nearby, had his mouth agape, revealing an expression that seemed to say, 'So I am not the one with the most after all.' Many people saw his expression and just shook their heads, not wanting to argue with him. Practitioner Su improves with every day of deliverance. I admire her—she is a man among men, possessing infinite boldness. In this universe, there is nothing that Practitioner Su cannot do; without her, there would be no one truly delivering sentient beings to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I invite everyone to participate in the daily Chao Du and weekly Dharma assembly at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. Namo Amituofo."
