One Heart: Teachings from Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju

On the 18th of December 2022, during the first session of the Thrice Yearning Ceremony, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju provided profound guidance to the fourfold assembly. This teaching serves as a beacon for all who seek to align their hearts with the Buddha and walk the path of true liberation.

The Descent of Compassion

Namo Amituofo has descended into the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. This manifestation occurs because the heart of Practitioner Su is in perfect alignment with the Buddha-heart. Together, they are fully dedicated to the mission of saving the world and rescuing infinite suffering beings. Through the resolution of conflicts and the practice of Chao Du, they have successfully saved countless beings, causing the demon crowds to tremble in fear at the power of their compassion.

Practitioner Su faces the interference of demon crowds without fear. Even when experiencing intense physical agony—such as muscle spasms, severe pain, or skin irritation—he remains entirely steadfast. By willingly taking on the suffering of others, he demonstrates that these physical obstacles cannot hinder the noble work of saving beings. His dedication proves that the spirit never dies and that the mission of salvation transcends the limitations of the physical body.

A Unified Heart for the Fourfold Assembly

The fourfold assembly at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre must now unite. You must share one heart with Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su to resolve the suffering of all beings. This requires diligent practice without any slackening. You must cultivate compassion and wisdom to clearly understand all matters, ensuring that your goodness and purity are constantly refined. Every action you take should be a step toward deeper purification.

Do not let your mind be disturbed by external circumstances; instead, focus on changing your personality traits. By upholding the Precepts (Discipline), Concentration and Wisdom, you will keep your heart calm and steady. The purification of the Six Roots is essential to ensure they are no longer stained by the dust of the world. Your primary goal is to rediscover your true self, for this is the foundation of all spiritual progress.

Returning to the Source of the True Self

Why do we practise so diligently? We do so to find our true self and escape the cycle of reincarnation. The doors of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre are open for all beings to enter. Here, you seek to transcend the limitations of aging and illness, knowing that the spirit never dies. By focusing on the journey to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss and engaging in Body-Mind-Spirit purification to heal all suffering, we move forward together with one heart, guided by the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.
