It is often said that it is far better to rely upon your own efforts than to seek help from others. This is not a rejection of support, but a recognition of the nature of the spiritual path. Those who possess a clear vision and a firm resolve understand the truth of our existence. They realise that the human heart is often clouded by selfishness, and that many of our daily actions are driven by personal gain rather than a genuine, selfless concern for the welfare of all beings. Because we often seek outcomes that serve our own interests, we must learn to turn our gaze inward. By relying on your own capacity for growth, you can begin to resolve the suffering that you and others experience.
If you find that your current efforts are insufficient, you must continue to practise with even greater diligence. There is no room for laziness or hesitation on this path. As you deepen your purification, your inner strength will naturally grow, and your true capabilities will be revealed. This is the hallmark of a correct and steady practice. You must continue to move forward, especially when you are serving others or working to save suffering beings. is always by your side, protecting and guiding you, yet you must also learn to save yourself. You cannot rely on external forces to control your destiny.
You must be truly awake to the reality of your situation. Do not allow yourself to remain trapped within the confines of your own personality. Many practitioners struggle because they cannot bend their waist in humility or let go of their pride. They are too concerned with their own image and their reputation in the eyes of others. However, if you wish to make progress, you must learn to reflect inward. You must be able to pick up the responsibilities of your practice and, just as importantly, know when to let go of the attachments that hold you back. Once you have truly let go, you will no longer be troubled by unnecessary thoughts or anxieties. You will be able to walk the path straight and true, dedicating every action to the benefit of all beings. Namo Amituofo.
