The Intricate Web of Karmic Ties

During the third session of the Thrice Yearning Ceremony, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju offered profound guidance on the nature of karmic ties. These ties are the invisible threads that bind us to the cycle of rebirth, and they are woven into every aspect of our lives, making it difficult to discern the truth behind our experiences. These ties follow us closely, like a shadow that never leaves our side. When a karmic tie is active, we are bound by its influence; however, when the tie is exhausted, no amount of calling or longing can bring it back. When all karmic ties are finally resolved, everything returns to zero. This is the true nature of our existence in this world.

Seeing Through the Illusion

To see through the nature of this world is to understand that our attachments are merely temporary. When you truly let go of these myriad ties, you will see clearly. Many people mistake the world for reality, but it is merely a collection of fleeting conditions. By releasing these attachments, you clear the path for your original nature to shine through. It is essential to realise that these worldly entanglements are not permanent, and clinging to them only serves to keep us trapped in the cycle of samsara.

The Reality of the Dharma-Nature Land

The Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is not an illusory realm; it is the Dharma-Nature Land. It is not something that appears by chance, but a state that is attained through sincere practice. If you wish to reach this land, your vows must be grounded in true practice. Without these vows, everything we experience in this world is but an empty, fleeting dream. We must distinguish between the transient nature of the world and the eternal reality of the Western Pure Land.

Awakening from the Dream

My dear disciples, ask yourselves: are there still karmic ties lingering in your heart? If you have thoughts and attachments, then you have karmic ties. If you are free from thoughts and attachments, then there are no ties to bind you. When ties exist, they pull us into dreams, and our souls become trapped within them. When will you resolve these ties and rescue your dreaming soul? Do not continue to chase after dreams within the web of karmic connections. Instead, focus your heart on Namo Amituofo and walk the path of liberation.
