Heart, Vows, and Actions Follow Amitabha, Spreading Throughout Space and the Dharma Realm
The serves as a profound opportunity for spiritual reflection and growth. During the second session, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju offered a teaching that challenges our conventional understanding of love and attachment. Only through the rigorous tempering of one's practice can one truly grasp the essence of . Many people mistake emotional attachment for love, yet true compassion is far deeper and more expansive than the fleeting of the human world.
It is through the trials of our daily practice that we begin to see clearly. When we look at the world through the lens of the , we realise that what appears to be heartless is, in truth, a manifestation of the highest Wisdom. This is the path that leads to true liberation, allowing us to move beyond the limitations of our own .
Emotion is the web of karmic connections that binds us to the cycle of rebirth. When we settle the heart and purify the mind, we begin to see the flow of the Dharma. We must learn to transform our emotional entanglements into Dharma affinity. This transformation is the reality within the dream of the human world. By letting go of the attachments that cloud our vision, we can finally begin to rediscover our true self.
When we are no longer driven by the turbulence of our emotions, we find a state of meditative concentration that allows the light of the Dharma to shine through. This is not about becoming cold or indifferent, but about finding the clarity to act in accordance with the Truth. By shifting our focus from personal emotional bonds to the broader scope of Dharma affinity, we align ourselves with the path of .
True compassion is entirely unconditional. It carries no hidden interests, no desire for exchange, and no personal agenda. It is a pure, selfless offering, born from the singular, unwavering wish to see others leave suffering behind and find true happiness. When our actions are guided by this pure intent, we are no longer driven by the attachments that keep us trapped in the cycle of suffering.
This compassion is a gift that asks for nothing in return. It is the natural expression of a heart that has been purified through consistent practice. When we offer this kind of love, we are not seeking to satisfy our own needs, but are instead acting as a vessel for the compassion of the Buddhas, helping sentient beings to find their way home to the of Ultimate Bliss.
Sometimes, to help another person truly awaken, one must appear heartless. This is not a lack of love, but a profound act of Wisdom. If we remain trapped in the world of emotional entanglements, we cannot effectively help others achieve liberation. By breaking free from these emotional bonds, we reveal the Great Compassion and Great Wisdom that reside within our true self.
This is the path to Awakening, where we move from confusion to clarity, from wrong paths to the right path, and from impurity to purity. We must be brave enough to face these challenges and break through the illusions of the heart. In doing so, we not only liberate ourselves but also provide the necessary guidance for others to find their own path to the Truth.
