This is a record of an interview with the Primordial Demon Nia, who has existed for approximately 7,560 trillion years. He sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia and now shares his unique perspective on the spiritual composition of the human body. This interview was recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, on February 26, 2025.

Demon Nia speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Nia. In the , I have observed a creature known as the 'snake.' This year, according to the zodiac cycle in China and among Chinese communities worldwide, is the Year of the Snake. Within the spiritual space, the nature of the snake manifests quite differently. Many of you carry this specific energy within your bodies. In mainland China, Taiwan, and Malaysia, one can see this 'snake nature' becoming particularly prominent this year. I have observed several Chinese individuals who exhibit this trait. Perhaps this is part of the profound and vast depth of Chinese culture—that different zodiac years can trigger such distinct physical and temperamental resonances. You call this 'the flow of the year,' do you not?

Destiny and the Power of Vows

Actually, regarding the Year of the Snake and the attributes people carry, those who practise the Buddha’s teachings should ideally remain unaffected by such things. That energy is merely a natural atmosphere. If people possess a corresponding frequency within themselves, this 'snake nature' becomes especially pronounced, influencing their fortunes. I am searching through your to find the appropriate words to express this so that you can understand. Practitioners of the Buddha’s teachings should possess a vow strong enough to counteract the influences brought about by the flow of the year. When it comes to the path of practice, the concept of 'destiny' is inaccurate. Why? Because practice can change destiny—which is to say, it can change .

In truth, even the demon crowds sometimes believe in destiny. There seems to be a standard for when one will be swept away by the laws of karma and cause and effect, yet no one dares to study it, fearing that it might happen to them. If it happens, one simply has to endure it. However, if your vow is sufficiently great, the attributes of the current year will have no effect on you. It is like light: a brighter light can obscure or repel a weaker one. But your light must be bright enough, and your energy must be strong enough. If your vow is truly great and powerful, it can indeed change your destiny. If your vow is not strong enough—if it flickers on and off—then such a vow is far too fragile.

The Human Body: A Densely Packed Space

If your destiny is strong, you will truly be led by your karma—birth, aging, sickness, and death; the appearance of ; the occurrence of unexpected disasters; or the arrival of joyous events. In such cases, destiny can be calculated quite accurately. But if you hold such a mindset while studying the Great at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, it would be a great pity! The purpose of studying the Great Dharma here is to change your destiny, to realise your true nature and attain Buddhahood, and to have the ability to save the demons. This is the heartfelt wish of us ancient demons and Primordial Demons in the Western Dharma-Nature Land: we hope you will not be led by destiny—that is, do not be led by your karma, your karmic creditors, attached spirits, or the demon crowds.

As for the structure of the human body, from the perspective of our 'demon eyes,' it is quite a convenient thing to observe. Today, Nia would like to report to everyone on the state of the human body as seen through these eyes. To be honest, if one were to map the human body, it is truly densely packed. There is almost no empty space anywhere; it is filled with beings, filled with space. This is a fact. The only question is: what kind of space does it belong to?

The Invisible Reality of Illness

Human medicine uses instruments to divide into the five internal organs and six viscera. This is a common language and methodology used to reach a consensus, to study organ changes and treatments, and to help people recover from aging and sickness so they can live normal lives. This is the goal of human medicine. However, it ignores the state of the spirit—the part that medicine cannot see, the part that the physical eyes cannot see and is thus neglected.

Even with the physical eyes, one can see that the body is densely packed; entities exist everywhere. For instance, cells are physical entities, and the liver, heart, lungs, spleen, and kidneys are also physical entities, each representing a major organ with a specific function. The six viscera, such as the gastrointestinal tract or the gallbladder, are also physical entities. When you add the blood, nerves, and bones that make up the body, it is already crowded. When you add the presence of spirits, it becomes incredibly congested. They come in all colours: grey, bright red, dark red, skin-toned, black, and grey. A healthy state is one where the energy is smooth, the blood flow is unobstructed, and the organs and cells are functioning in a regular, rhythmic manner. If an organ is diseased, the colour will deepen as the illness progresses, eventually turning black.

The Mechanics of Spiritual Healing

When beings first appear, you will notice that a specific area begins to differ in colour from its surroundings; it starts to change. This indicates that this area already contains beings, and there is a spiritual energy within it—and this energy is unfriendly. By 'unfriendly,' I mean it belongs to the 'evil mental factors' within your fifty-one mental factors of the eight consciousnesses. This includes resentment, anger, as well as the beings harmed by greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, doubt, and the pursuit of wealth, lust, fame, food, and sleep. In short, they all carry a negative energy. As these beings gather in greater numbers, the congestion becomes more severe, causing the colour of that area to become heavier and deeper, while its vitality diminishes. Regardless of where a disease manifests in the body, this is basically the trend.

Take a single cell, for example. When a cell changes, it is because the spiritual beings within it have appeared. I have seen perfectly healthy cells that, because the person had a temper and a strong personality, were quickly surrounded by a large number of 'evil' cells and negative energy. The most obvious place where this accumulation occurs is in the gastrointestinal tract. This is called pollution—it is fast and heavy. When the digestive system undergoes such changes, it is surely uncomfortable because it becomes blocked. The blockage caused by the gathering of these beings is invisible to the physical eye. Furthermore, the actual organ begins to change colour and bloat after the blockage; this is a physical change that the naked eye can see. However, this is a situation confined within the five internal organs and six viscera of the body.

The Path to a Transparent Body

If this occurs in a medical context where surgery is possible, one might find that the organ has turned black and is blocked, leaving no choice but to remove it. This is a very common situation in medicine regarding the gastrointestinal tract. It turns out that it is the person's personality that causes the beings in that area to 'wake up,' and the changes in the temperaments of these beings cause such damage to the organs in a very short time. Sometimes it accumulates slowly, leading to malignant changes. If not addressed, the scope will naturally spread, and eventually, the body's positive energy will be consumed by these cells or beings. When the energy is exhausted, that is the moment when one's breath ceases—one meets their end. When the body can no longer be used, the energy is gone, and the organs have decayed, how can one continue? This is the reason why humans experience birth, aging, sickness, and death.

Therefore, whether the process of aging and sickness proceeds quickly or slowly is related to spirits, personality, and meditative concentration. Those with meditative concentration can stop their temper, stop the changes in their organs, and slow down the rapid deterioration, but they cannot stop it completely. Because once these beings are awake, how can you stop them? Unless you listen to the sutras and hear the Dharma to transform the nature of these beings, or invite them to leave the body. If a demon crowd has already entered the body, how can you prevent them from causing harm? The only way is to invite them out of the body. They are spirits; they cannot be treated with medical surgery or drugs. Therefore, one must rely on the of Namo Amituofo and the compassion of Practitioner Su to resolve the conflict with them, so that they are willing to leave the body, accept , and go to a better place. The Western Dharma-Nature Land is a very good place.

Furthermore, I have seen that after some spirits are illuminated by the Buddha-light, they become happy and joyful. After their spiritual brightness increases, they go to be reborn in the heavenly or human realms, still carrying a golden light on their bodies. This is because they accepted the resolution and were illuminated by the Buddha-light; spirits sent to the Dharma-Nature Land by Practitioner Su through the sounding of the chime bowl easily possess this light. Such miraculous changes are invisible to medicine, and no cause can be found, yet they exist. I believe that those in the human world with 'opened eyes,' or those in the Demon Realm, can also see this, and can even see the more subtle parts—the changes in the spirit's character.

If the beings accept the resolution but do not yet want to leave the body, at least their anger has dissipated significantly. The negative energy and pressure that this group of beings exerts on the organs will also decrease, allowing the organs to relax and show signs of improvement. However, the beings are still present; they have not left. In comparison, in areas where the beings have been resolved and invited to the Dharma-Nature Land, the number of beings in that area is significantly reduced. The symptoms that were originally present—whether pain, itching, or otherwise—can be quickly relieved. This is the brilliance of the Buddha’s teachings.

These are things that technology cannot achieve; this is the 'technology within technology.' Technology cannot resolve karmic grievances, cannot invite spirits out, and cannot perform Chao Du. The beings remain in that area, and at most, they are temporarily suppressed by drugs, creating the illusion of improvement or relief. But to be cured, one must invite the beings out to have any possibility of healing. Sometimes, however, the internal organs have already suffered substantial damage and require a recovery period to return to their original state. If the damage was caused quickly and in the short term, it appears that once the beings are invited out, that area can recover.

The human body is truly subtle; the space within it is vast. Some spaces are crowded with a large number of beings, while others appear a bit looser. However, it is clearly visible that in the space where beings have been invited out, if the person again gives rise to thoughts and intentions, new beings will enter—these are one's own karmic creditors or attached spirits entering from the outside. This part depends on how much one has changed their own temperament and personality. Changing more can indeed help with illness or aging.

However, the best situation is to have no aging or illness at all; this is a healthy human body. Practitioner Su’s body is transparent, and the beings who are happy are also transparent, and Practitioner Su is also happy. Both sides benefit, and one can even help the beings—how wonderful that is! In other words, the best situation is not to age, not to be sick, and not to have beings manifest or be attracted into the body to cause harm. The energy in such a body is extremely clean, unpolluted, and the organs naturally emit a bright, transparent light. This is what I have seen in Practitioner Su. The situations of the fourfold assembly of disciples are all different. Those who think too much, or whose names Practitioner Su often calls out, naturally have more beings on their bodies.

Therefore, the body, mind, and spirit are closely related and mutually influence one another. The state of the body affects the mind, and the mind affects the spirit; the three circulate and influence each other. This is why it is difficult for humans to practise with a body, but it is also because of this body that one has the ability to elevate the quality of the spirit to a state of clarity, transparency, and . This is perhaps why Earthlings are so precious! However, the number of humans in the human world can still be counted, but there are countless spirits—too many to count! Moreover, they are densely packed and scattered across different spaces; the spaces are almost entirely filled with spirits.

Humans are also polluted very quickly. The ones who listen to Practitioner Su’s Dharma talks the most are the spirits; they listen quickly, but they have no method to resolve their own predicament. Spirits can only be liberated from their current situation by relying on the Buddha’s and Chao Du. As for the human body, as long as one listens and changes, one can save other spirits and humans, but it is quite difficult to change—it is not easy. This also requires the beings on one's body to change; only then can the person change!

If the beings on a person’s body do not appreciate it and continue to interfere with you, I am afraid you will not be able to change much. Especially when one is in pain or discomfort, how many people have a good temper? If you speak to them, their response might be to lash out, because they are uncomfortable! This is related to an individual’s cultivation, and it is also because the body affects the spirit and the mind. Although I do not have a body, I can see many such situations from observing you.

This is a brief overview of the state of the body.
