The Ancient Demon's Surrender to the Light
An Interview with Mo Yun-ban, an Ancient Demon from the Milky Way
Recorded at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre
This is a record of an interview with Mo Yun-ban, an ancient demon who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the . This account reflects upon his existence spanning 653 billion trillion years and his influence on the Milky Way and human history. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on March 24, 2026.
Mo Yun-ban speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Mo Yun-ban. I have been travelling from the distant Milky Way to this small planet, Earth, and have been in China for three thousand years. Throughout these three millennia of Chinese history, I have been an active participant. But what is history, really? Now, residing here in the Western -Nature Land at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, the truth has finally been revealed to me: history is merely layer upon layer of space. Three thousand years of history contains three thousand years of historical space—no, it is not just three thousand; it is immeasurable and boundless. Think about it—how many such spaces exist? And all sentient spirits are caught within them!"
The Collapse of the Demon Palaces
"Even though I am an ancient demon with a history of 653 billion trillion years and possess formidable meditative concentration—having even attempted to enter samadhi in places of light to prove my own power—I would not dare claim that I truly understand the nature of space. However, Practitioner Su’s recent large-scale Chao Du across the provinces of China has truly broadened my horizons. Countless spaces were opened under Practitioner Su’s deliverance. It was like watching fireworks; one after another, demon palaces collapsed rapidly under the illumination of the Buddha-light. Accompanied by the terrified screams of many demon crowds, they could not believe that the results of their many years of cultivation were destroyed in an instant. Many demons attacked Practitioner Su in a frenzy, but this was an unwise move. They soon found themselves suffering the consequences of their , ultimately being gathered by Practitioner Su into the Western Dharma-Nature Land.
There is an ancient poem that says, 'Searching the heavens and the underworld, yet finding nothing.' It describes the sorrow of being unable to find a loved one even after searching through the heavenly realms and the underworld. From this, one can see that once a person dies and enters the cycle of rebirth, no one truly knows which realm or space they have entered. Only a 'Universal Buddha' like Namo Amituofo, who permeates all time and all places, can truly know the answer. If one asks Namo Amituofo where a deceased soul has gone, the answer is revealed instantly. This is true in terms of the phenomena that ordinary people can perceive and in the efficacy of Chao Du ceremonies."
The Unbeatable Combination of Two Buddhas
"But looking at it from the more proactive perspective of saving beings, I have been able to watch the scenes of Practitioner Su’s deliverance from the Dharma-Nature Land. Time and again, I have seen Practitioner Su’s countless manifestations spread across the entirety of China in a single instant, covering the land from north to south, east to west, and throughout the ten directions. As each manifestation emits the , Namo Amituofo is right there beside them, receiving the beings. This means that for every manifestation of Practitioner Su, there is a corresponding Namo Amituofo appearing at that very moment to guide suffering spirits into the Western Dharma-Nature Land. This is a miraculous scene I witnessed from the Dharma-Nature Land that left me dumbfounded and in disbelief.
It is no wonder Namo Amituofo is called the 'Universal Buddha'—it is truly the Universal Buddha! Only the Universal Buddha could coordinate with Practitioner Su’s manifestations to perform deliverance at such speed and in such a short time. No matter how deep into the layers of space Practitioner Su’s manifestations go, Namo Amituofo appears instantly to emit light and guide the beings. The Buddha is truly so compassionate! This coordinated deliverance action is unstoppable because it is an impeccable partnership between two Buddhas. The power of Practitioner Su alone was already something we demon crowds could not resist. If you add the power of Namo Amituofo, we demon crowds have no choice but to surrender. Moreover, both Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su are saving us suffering demons, hoping we will stop creating and continuing to suffer. This is a heart of such immense , which I, Mo Yun-ban, now deeply feel here in the Dharma-Nature Land."
A Chance for Spiritual Transformation
"My own demon palace was actually established in a small pond in Chaozhou, China. I had hidden it very well, but I never expected that when Practitioner Su came to Chaozhou to perform Chao Du, he would see the location of my palace at a single glance. He immediately illuminated it with the Twelve Lights of Namo Amituofo, and my palace, which I had operated for so many years, vanished into thin air. At that moment, I thought it was truly absurd—how could such a thing happen? Then, without any time to think, my 'demon children and grandchildren' and I were all illuminated by those Twelve Lights and brought into the Western Dharma-Nature Land.
This was something we never thought would happen, but fortunately, it did, because it is truly a stroke of immense good fortune! Although we demons believe in 'the strong preying on the weak,' I still hope for a good future for my 'demon children and grandchildren.' Otherwise, I would not have brought them all the way from the Milky Way to develop here. Now, everyone is sitting on lotus seats in the Dharma-Nature Land, transformed into pure, clean beings—we hardly recognise ourselves! I am very satisfied with our current path. When I think about it, I feel we are incredibly blessed to have encountered Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, and to have come to the Western Dharma-Nature Land, which has given us the opportunity to turn our spiritual lives around!"
"Now, everyone listens to Practitioner Su’s Dharma talks and understands that the name 'Namo Amituofo' is extremely important. Everyone chants 'Namo Amituofo' in unison and with great volume, chanting continuously, and following the temple’s schedule for purification. Such days are very special to us. As we listen to the sutras and hear the Dharma, we understand more and more that the sins we created are heavy and difficult to repay. We dare not be the slightest bit lazy; we only dare to hold onto this Buddha-name tightly, not daring to let go for even a second!"
The Tragedy of Modern China
"The land of Chaozhou is very prosperous, and I liked it very much initially because many people there have my lineage of Demon Kings, 'demon children and grandchildren' in them. Nowadays, controlling humans in China is, frankly, effortless; there is nothing to ponder. Because of the education Chinese people receive from a young age, their selfishness has been provoked from the very marrow of their bones. This natural, deep-seated belief in protecting oneself is too strong and profound. Even elders with virtue find it hard to avoid this; it is the tragedy of this great era in China.
If those with high aspirations in China could truly break through this layer of self-protection and understand that 'when Heaven is about to place a great burden on a person, it first exhausts their heart and mind, and labours their body,' they might find a glimmer of hope, regardless of the obstacles they face. If they could truly 'let go' like Practitioner Su, sacrificing their own bodies, and remain unmoved by any suppression or treatment, solely for the sake of propagating the true Buddhist education in China, then more people would have the Causal Conditions to be saved by hearing the True Teachings. If they truly did this, I, Mo Yun-ban, believe these people would inevitably receive the inconceivable of the Buddha’s power, just as Practitioner Su has. In this way, there would be hope for the Buddha’s teachings in China. In truth, although Ethics and Morality are scarce in China, there is no lack of virtuous people among the older generation. But for them, the key to success or failure lies in whether they can encounter the True Teachings and truly stake everything on sacrificing themselves for the sake of all beings, or whether they will remain timid and afraid to act decisively."
The Only Path to Hope
"In short, children in China today are indeed very miserable because there is not a single child who is not our puppet. Of course, the main reason is that they have not received the education of the true Buddha’s teachings. For many Chinese people, it seems they have heard of the Buddha, but the Buddha is too distant to them—as if it were just an empty term. Many do not know they should chant the Buddha’s name, and even if they do, they do not know why. All of this requires education! If they could all click on the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre website and listen to the sutras explained by Practitioner Su, they would truly have a glimmer of hope!
However, this is indeed something we Chinese demons try our best to avoid. After all, we all know that a Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre has appeared in the world—a sacred sanctuary where Namo Amituofo abides. Heavens! If such a precious land became well-known in China, what would we demons do? We would probably have to pack up and leave! After all, in front of the Buddha, we dare not claim to have any methods. Therefore, the resistance against the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is very strong. If it were evil teachings, distorted Buddhist teachings, or pseudo-Buddhist teachings, we would not care, because such things are just more of the same, and they are all objects controlled by us demons. But the True Teachings propagated by the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre are different. Such teachings truly give people the opportunity to open their hearts and minds upon hearing them!"
"In other words, under the current circumstances, as a Chinese person, if one can hear the Great Dharma propagated by the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, one must truly have a clear understanding of one’s own blessings! Because only with sufficient understanding can one know the value of it, and know what choices to make. Whether one is half-hearted or strives with all one’s might, the results are worlds apart. To put it simply, the difference lies in whether one truly believes in the Buddha. What is the Buddha? What is the Buddha’s will?
Many, many people do not know. Fortunately, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, there is Practitioner Su, who has become a Buddha in the human world, who can converse with Namo Amituofo, and who truly understands Namo Amituofo’s thoughts one hundred percent, wishing to pass on the Buddha’s teachings to the masses. Therefore, when one cannot understand the Buddha’s heart and cannot connect with the Buddha, if one can have unwavering faith in Practitioner Su’s words and use all one’s strength to practise, as long as there is such sincerity and respect, there will certainly be an opportunity to turn one’s karma around!"
"This can be seen in some of the fourfold assembly of disciples at the temple. The process is not necessarily simple, but it is the only broad and smooth path. As the saying goes, 'see the big from the small.' By comparing the situation of the Chinese fourfold assembly who have come to the temple with the situation of the Chinese people outside the temple, one can see that for China, Buddhist education is truly imperative. This must be turned around from the depths of the heart to change the current situation. Most importantly, only then can the next generation have a different beginning.
Practitioner Su’s deliverance of the Chinese demon crowds is not only to save the demons but also to save the Chinese people. I see that the retaliatory force of the demon crowds is becoming stronger and stronger, which is to be expected, as the demons being delivered are of increasingly higher 'age' and power, so naturally, the counter-force is greater. If the fourfold assembly of disciples cannot strictly guard their hearts and actions and move forward vigorously with Practitioner Su, they might fall behind, which would be a great pity. After all, at this time when the temple has opened its doors, if one can follow Practitioner Su to break through and elevate oneself, one will be able to achieve much more.
Now, as I exist in the spiritual realms, I do not know what else I can do, but I believe that every second, I will chant this 'Namo Amituofo' well. This is the correct decision.
Gratitude to Namo Amituofo. Gratitude to Practitioner Su. Namo Amituofo."
