The Subtle Shadow of Laxity

Laxity is a condition that arises when a specific mental note is combined with our physical actions. In the worldly sense, we learn to acquire the skills necessary to survive and function within this world. However, the practice of the is entirely different. It is an out-of-the-world endeavour, a dedicated process of purifying , heart, and spirit to realise one's true self. We must adjust our hearts and minds to align with this higher purpose.

Practice is fundamentally for the benefit of all beings. You must remember that you are one of these beings, and you are also the primary subject of this purification. You must first save yourself and the beings within our bodies, never forgetting that you and these beings are one entity. If you fall into a state of laxity, you are essentially stagnating or even regressing. This lack of movement ensures that your learning and your practice will yield no progress.

The Echoes of Our Inner World

Spiritual practice requires the constant purification of the body, heart, and spirit. If you remain tainted and unpurified, whether you are studying or practising, you will not advance; instead, you will inevitably fall behind. You have the power to lead the beings within you toward the right path. If your own mental state shifts, the mental states of the beings within you will follow suit.

If you can transform your heart to be:

  • Free from calculation and selfishnessFilled with compassionConsiderate of others

Then the beings within you will also transform, becoming free from selfishness and learning to be compassionate and considerate. When you chant Namo Amituofo, you must invite these beings to chant along with you.

The Compassionate Bridge to Resolution

If you do not transform your heart, you will remain caught in the cycle of calculation, selfishness, and a lack of , constantly seeking to protect your own interests. Consequently, it becomes very difficult for the beings within you to change. They will remain fixated on past grievances, harbouring dissatisfaction and the pain of the injuries they have suffered. They will be single-mindedly focused on seeking revenge. As long as you remain untransformed, the opportunities for these beings to resolve their conflicts are extremely limited.

The Radiant Light of Practitioner Su

Fortunately, we have the assistance of the of Practitioner Su, who has realised his true nature. Through his compassionate guidance, beings are able to return to the past, reunite with their families, and see their homes restored. There is even a special space for infant spirits, allowing them to enter, find their parents, and finally receive the nourishment and care they have longed for. All of this is truly inconceivable.

This occurs because the perspective of the awakened being is one of unity, and the heart of compassion is fully revealed. The abilities manifested through this process are all intended to alleviate the suffering of beings. Therefore, the fourfold assembly of disciples who have embarked on the path of liberation must be even more proactive. You must work diligently to resolve conflicts with all beings and alleviate their suffering, as well as your own suffering of birth, aging, sickness, death.

to the Eternal Path

Do not allow yourself to fall back into the cycle of being reincarnated. You must be actively diligent and never be lax. For every day that you remain in this world, you should dedicate your efforts to the benefit of all beings. To rediscover your true self, you must overcome the state of being drowsy, enter into the space of the Dharma, and learn to see through and let go of all attachments. Be actively diligent, and do not be lax in your practice. Namo Amituofo.
