The Compassionate Connection: Namo Amituofo and Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva

The Compassionate Listener of the World

Great compassion is the defining quality of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva. This Bodhisattva observes the sounds of suffering within this world and, upon hearing those cries, immediately extends a hand to save those in distress. Throughout the vastness of the Dharma Realm, in any place where a being is suffering, if you sincerely call out the name of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, you will find that your suffering is transformed into peace. Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, and Namo Amituofo are always together in their work of salvation.

An Eternal Bond Across Lifetimes

The Causal Conditions between you and the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas began many eons ago and continue to this very day. When you reach the depths of suffering, the name you call out for help arises naturally from your heart and lips. Whether you chant the name of Namo Amituofo or the name of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, you are engaging in a profound resonance with the Buddhas. It is said that there are a thousand prayers and a thousand responses; the Bodhisattva is like a boat that constantly sails the sea of suffering to save those who are drowning. This is the great compassionate vow of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva.

The Path to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

However, you must understand the specific purpose of your practice. If your true desire is to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, you must chant the name of Namo Amituofo. By doing so, you come into sync with the vow of Namo Amituofo. Only through this resonance can you be led by Namo Amituofo to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is a matter that all of you must know and understand clearly.

Entering the Golden Light of Deliverance

During today's Dharma assembly, I call upon all those present, including the spirits within the bodies of the fourfold assembly, to sincerely chant the name of Namo Amituofo. By doing so, you will enter the golden light of the Buddha. Through this light, you will be able to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, where you will forever enjoy the peace and happiness of that pure realm.
