The Demon King Subdued from the Left Groin and Leg

This is a record of an interview with the Demon King Mosaha, who sought Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, having been given the Dharma name Shi Kaihuai by Practitioner Su. This account reflects upon his transformation and the profound power of the Buddha's light. Recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, on June 13, 2022.

Demon King Mosaha (Shi Kaihuai) speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I hail from a remarkably distant galaxy, originating from a demon planet known as Tuwasa. Because it is a demon planet, we have a natural aversion to brightness. We spend our entire existence within a grey, dim, and muted space. There are two primary reasons for this: first, we strive to conserve our energy, as light is a drain on our constitution; second, demonic energy is inherently a form of dark energy. The most powerful Demon Kings among us emit a very intense, dark light, while the weaker, lesser demons radiate only a feeble, flickering shadow.

I am one of the Demon Kings of this planet. I grew up there, progressing through the stages of existence—from a fetal demon to a lesser demon, then to a great demon, and finally, I was promoted to the rank of Demon King. If you were to calculate my age by human standards, I am twelve thousand five hundred and sixty-two years old. At this age, I belong to the elder generation on our planet, having witnessed countless cycles of birth and decay.

The Nature of Our Demon Planet

The demonic energy radiated by our planet naturally attracts similar beings from across the cosmos. Once they arrive, they undergo our rigorous screening process. If they do not meet the specific conditions for life on our planet, we politely but firmly ask them to leave. If they meet the criteria, they become part of our demon crowd and are allowed to reside there. Therefore, there are demon families on the planet that have been passed down through generations; many lesser demons have parents who are also denizens of this place. When a demon's power and energy are depleted and their vitality wanes, they naturally become weak. They are then invited into the ruins on the planet, where their bodies decompose and return to dust. That place is their final burial ground.

You use light-years to express distance here on Earth. Our planet is one hundred and ninety-nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine trillion light-years away from your world. I can only calculate this because my mathematical ability is quite refined; those without such skills would never be able to fathom the vastness of the void. At such a staggering distance, how could Practitioner Su possibly arrive there in such a short time? What kind of soul and what kind of legs does he possess? It is truly beyond my comprehension! Could humans on Earth really be this powerful? That is why I made this journey—to come here and study this Practitioner Su. I never expected that he would have the ability to place us under house arrest in this place. It seems he is no ordinary person; otherwise, how could he have such great capability? Whether it be great demons or lesser demons from the Milky Way, famous or nameless, he has been able to call them by name and subdue them one by one here.

The Mystery of the Light-Body

Before entering Earth, I looked at it and thought it was just a small, insignificant planet. What kind of ability could it have to nurture a human with a body of light? This light-body has recently achieved feats in the Milky Way that have never been seen before, leaving us all far behind. What interests us most is his heart. Because in all things in the universe, regardless of their form, time, or space, every life form is governed by the heart. This is an unchanging principle of the cosmos.

Now I am here in the Western Land of Dharma Nature. This place is not bad at all; it is able to continuously provide us with so much light and energy. This is definitely not something that can be manufactured by technology. It seems that the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is no ordinary temple. It is filled with spiritual energy everywhere. There are all kinds of spirits here—sand spirits, cloud spirits, flower and tree spirits, marine life spirits, water molecule spirits, ghosts, demons, and more. Each type of spirit carries a different energy, which we call spiritual energy. Some spiritual energy is very dark, some is very strange, some is very sorrowful and depressed, and of course, there is also very joyful spiritual energy, including the demonic and ghostly energy brought by us demons.

The Power of Namo Amituofo

What kind of place is this, that it can contain so many spirits and so much spiritual energy? Now we know: it is because the great Namo Amituofo is here. Once the Buddha-light of Namo Amituofo appears, it suppresses all of us. All kinds of spiritual energies are dissolved. So many of us demons and ghosts—or spirits, if you prefer—have all been conquered by the Buddha-light. To be able to cultivate to this level is truly not simple. No wonder Practitioner Su says he wants to learn the Universal Buddha body of Namo Amituofo. This has turned our Milky Way upside down and left us dizzy.

The reason I came here is because of the strange celestial phenomena. In the sky, with the galaxy as a background, a very bright light appeared. That beam of light rotated irregularly in the Milky Way, and golden light sprinkled across the sky. It did not fall in a straight line like a meteor; it looked like a mischievous child drawing circles in the sky, scattering golden light. It confused our celestial researchers, so they rushed to report it to me. After I saw it, my eyes were dazzled. Why was it still spinning, spinning without stopping? I immediately gave the order: this is no ordinary celestial phenomenon. I told my most skilled demon children and grandchildren to find out what was going on.

The Reports from the Galaxy

Later, they reported back: 'King Mosaha, King Mosaha, we have collected data. In the distant sky, there has recently been a lot of golden light and the music of Namo Amituofo. This is because Practitioner Su of Earth has brought a lot of energy, reviving many dying planets in the Milky Way. He has also saved many wandering and abandoned lonely spirits, and it is said that he has sent them to the energy-rich Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Although many demon children and grandchildren of the Milky Way went to reason with Practitioner Su, they went and never returned. This makes many Demon Kings love and hate Practitioner Su at the same time. They love him because if they could catch and subdue him, they would not have to worry about energy shortages; they hate him because the survival of many demon realms is threatened, as planets receiving the golden energy of Practitioner Su have increased their defensive capabilities. Without even having to fight, the demons who originally intended to occupy those planets were subdued.' After receiving the report from my demon children and grandchildren, I said, 'We are too far away; he won't come here, will he?'

Hardly had I finished speaking when I heard a demon child tell me: 'Great King, do not underestimate this Practitioner Su. Originally, they also thought Practitioner Su would only circle a few times and leave, but they did not expect him to circle more than twenty times. The golden light circles the Demon King saw in the sky were the golden light emitted by Practitioner Su as he circled the Milky Way. There is no guarantee when he might rush toward us.' I did not expect that shortly after hearing these reports, I would hear another report from a demon child: 'Great King, Great King, it is not good! That Practitioner Su is really rushing toward us! What should we do? What should we do?' I was still very calm and said, 'He cannot rush to our place. I have checked; unless a miracle occurs, it is impossible for him to reach here.'

The Arrival of the Golden Light

I did not expect that shortly after I said this, a loud sound erupted from my location. It was a ruin in our area, which housed useless, frail, and buried demon beings. I did not expect that golden light would be sprinkled from the sky, and the ruins would be revived. Those useless, frail demon beings actually became strong. For a moment, I really did not know how to handle this situation. This is always a good thing. Our demon planet has never encountered energy flying down from the sky; it is truly something one seeks but cannot find. If we could let Practitioner Su stay here permanently, we would not have to worry about how to obtain energy. So, we made up our minds to find Practitioner Su.

We rode our planet's flying ship, which was filled with all kinds of the fastest and most advanced instruments, capable of handling various situations during our patrols. We flew directly toward Earth. Compared to the planets in the Milky Way, Earth is a very small planet. Finding the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre was not a difficult task, because there is only one such temple; there is no second one. This is a place with abundant energy; you can see it just by looking. There is no other place that can emit such golden light. When we arrived here to find Practitioner Su, he was truly extraordinary. He looked like an old grandmother in the human world, but the light emitted from his body was terrifying. Alas! How can there be such a human? Furthermore, the energy of the Namo Amituofo Buddha-name chanted by the people here is different depending on who is chanting. Those with open eyes can see that the brightness of Practitioner Su's body and his Six Roots is different from ordinary people, especially after chanting the Buddha-name, he becomes even brighter.

Subdued by Compassion

I was most interested in his legs. What kind of legs can fly and run so fast? I led my demon children and grandchildren to rush into his legs; this is the fastest way. However, his legs are truly different from ordinary ones. We could not rush in. I did not believe it; there must be a loophole, but no matter how we bumped into them, we could not get in. It may also be because our impact was too great, disturbing Practitioner Su and causing him pain. He discovered that there were beings trying to enter his legs and groin. Practitioner Su wanted to pull the beings out and write memorial tablets. He actually called out my name and then made a loud sound. We were completely unprepared and were sucked in by the suction force created by the striking of the large qing. I thought I was done for and would return to the earth, but unexpectedly, with a 'dong' sound, I sat on a lotus flower, and my demon children and grandchildren each had their own lotus flower, sitting properly.

I was too careless. No matter what, I should not have appeared so easily and let Practitioner Su catch me so easily. Now, I can only stay here obediently. This is a very safe place, which is why it is possible to have such a calm and peaceful feeling. I actually relaxed on the lotus seat and fell asleep; it has been a long time since I slept so soundly. I was caught on the first day I arrived!

I heard Practitioner Su's voice again in the early hours of the next day. I was awakened by the loud and resonant sound of the Buddha-name. It was quite pleasant, and the energy of the Buddha-name was very sufficient. I also heard the sound of everyone in the temple chanting the Buddha-name together. This was the sound of everyone doing their morning service and circumambulating while chanting at two o'clock in the morning. It turns out that the fourfold assembly of the temple has to get up so early every day to do their homework; their skills must be quite good.

Reflections on the Thrice Yearning Ceremony

Demon King Mosaha (Shi Kaihuai) speaks:

"I saw a very terrifying scene again. Why are there so many Practitioner Sus flying into the sky? Some fly through the air, some fly at low altitudes? This is called 'countless manifestations'. I only heard this term after coming here. This is the powerful aspect of the Buddha's teachings. These countless manifestations are like a curveball; you cannot catch them no matter which direction they fly. Later, I learned that there is a salvation team, which is composed of demon beings subdued by Practitioner Su. Now they have turned over a new leaf and are learning the Buddha's teachings, so they follow Practitioner Su to deliver sentient beings together. Every place they pass, the golden light and the Buddha-name can save many beings. It turns out that Practitioner Su does not only save the Milky Way; many places on Earth and in the heavenly realms are within the scope of his deliverance. This is truly amazing! I was stunned and could not help but let out a sigh of admiration!

It turns out that Practitioner Su's backing is Namo Amituofo, the Universal Buddha. To be honest, we do not know much about Namo Amituofo, but we know that he is the Buddha famous in the Buddha's teachings on Earth and in the void, and the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss was created by Namo Amituofo. In the Dharma assembly, the tall and radiant Buddha we saw was Namo Amituofo. Many beings disappeared after entering his Buddha-light; they were delivered by the Buddha. So this is how Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su save sentient beings! This is the heart of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, called the heart of compassion. This skill is truly amazing! Alright! Then we are willing to be subdued; we have nothing more to say.
