The Demon of Resentment Within
An Interview with the Demon Crowds Residing in Practitioner Yu Yuetao
Recorded by Chief Writer Shi Faxi on July 28, 2021
This is a record of an interview with the demon crowds residing within Practitioner Yu Yuetao, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. This account reveals the mechanics of how resentment invites spiritual possession. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on July 28, 2021.
The Demon of Resentment speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. We are the demon crowds that have been dwelling within of Yu Yuetao. In the past, she caused us great harm, and because of her actions, we were plunged into an endless abyss of suffering. We have harboured deep hatred for her, constantly searching for an opportunity to exact our revenge. Now, we have finally waited long enough to see this opportunity arrive. Her body is no longer under her own control; we are many, representing various factions, all occupying her physical form. Our goal is to use her body to create , ensuring that after she accumulates a mountain of negative deeds, she will eventually face the full weight of ."
The Seeds of Possession
"We were summoned here by the very thoughts of resentment and anger that fester within her heart. As she approached the end of her life, this intense hatred completely covered up her entire mental state. It is a tragedy, really, because she herself is utterly unable to perceive what is happening. Her days pass by one after another, yet she remains completely oblivious to the profound transformation occurring within her own body. Her focus is entirely self-centred; she is desperate to hold onto just one more breath, to survive a little longer. To her, there are still things she wishes to accomplish, and she is simply not ready to depart from this human world."
The Trap of Unwillingness
"Because of this, whenever the seeds of hatred sprout within her heart, she has no way of catching them. She does not even realise that her inner self is in a state of constant rebellion against the circumstances of her life. She does not want to leave this world, nor does she wish to return to Taiwan alone. Therefore, when she faces criticism or pressure, a fire of resentment ignites deep within her heart, fueled by her desperate refusal to die.
We are fully aware of these inner thoughts, and so we have maintained a tight grip on her. We want to ensure she has no way to extinguish the hatred in her heart. We even manipulate her expressions so that her face reveals this deep-seated dissatisfaction and malice. This is our method of forcing her to create karma while she is here. We want to make her suffer, to make her feel agonisingly uncomfortable, and to ensure she remains trapped, unable to find liberation."
A Warning to All Practitioners
"This state of mind—this 'resentment'—is actually something we see in many of the practitioners here as well. As long as there is a sense of injustice in one's heart, or even the slightest trace of dissatisfaction, that mental state will inevitably generate hatred. If you look closely at many of the people here, you can see demon crowds similar to us currently controlling them. This specific thought—'things are not going the way I want'—is the easiest way to invite the control of demons. You must learn to be vigilant and aware of your own mind.
We originally intended to continue controlling Yu Yuetao, but now that we have been invited out by the Buddha, we are finally able to let go. The Buddha-light has helped us recover our past, and we no longer wish to dwell on these painful memories. We all want to leave this cycle of suffering. Please, help us."
A New Beginning
"The Buddha has bestowed upon me a new name—Shi Yuanming.
I am deeply grateful to Namo Amituofo. I am deeply grateful to Practitioner Su."
Shi Yuanming (formerly the Demon of Resentment)
