The Demon's Confession: A Three-Hundred-Million-Year Perspective
An Interview with the Ancient Demon Geng-hen
Recorded by Chief Writer Shi Fa-jing on June 26, 2024
This interview was recorded on June 26, 2024, at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. The speaker is Geng-hen, a demon from an other-worldly realm who existed for three hundred million years before seeking deliverance through Practitioner Su.
Geng-hen speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Geng-hen. I never once imagined there would come a day when I would leave the demon path. Especially when I first entered the internet world invented by humans, I felt such a thrill in being a demon. It was so incredibly easy to capture spirits and trap them tightly within the digital realm, leaving them with no chance to escape.
The Digital Trap: A Demon's Playground
Having been a demon for so long, entering the internet world for the first time was, for me, a truly magnificent place. Humans have built the internet world to be so complete; it contains everything. Because the human head is filled with fantasies, these fantasies and illusions can all enter the internet world, becoming the very spaces within it.
Uncontrollable desires constantly torment the human heart, driving them to use every possible method to pursue and satisfy their cravings. These desires multiply without end, and humans use the internet to satisfy them even faster. To humans, the internet offers the benefit of speed and convenience, allowing them to obtain what they want in the shortest possible time, satisfying their hearts instantly. But, I must say, that is absolutely only a temporary satisfaction; it will never be permanent.
The Cycle of Addiction
Human spirits are dragged into the internet space in massive numbers, and these humans are of all ages. Why all ages? Because regardless of age, humans all share the same desires. Perhaps the desires differ by age, or perhaps they are the same, but no matter the nature of the desire, they can all find a brief, fleeting satisfaction in the internet world.
Among the many humans addicted to the internet, there is a large group so deeply lost that they do not even know how to wake up. No matter how many people provide counseling to them, they choose to remain intoxicated by the internet world, with no intention of saving themselves or changing their state of addiction. However, there is another group of humans. They are equally obsessed, but they feel profound pain because they want to break free from the temptation and control of the internet, yet they simply cannot overcome it. So, these people try again and again; they change, only to relapse, and then change again, only to relapse once more. The pain tasted from this repeated failure is far greater than that of those who do not yet want to change, because those who do not want to change are still intoxicated by the pleasure of the internet, lacking any awareness or desire to wake up.
The Mechanics of Spiritual Interference
For those who are still obsessed and deeply lost, we do not need to exert very strong demonic power. They are already so deeply poisoned that they do not need our power at all; they will sink into it until they are unable to extricate themselves. Thus, it is very easy for us to latch onto their spirits, leaving them no chance to escape.
We exert more effort on the other group—those who want to break free from the internet's control. These people have realised the harm the internet causes them, so they have begun to try to break away. But the more they want to break free, the tighter we hold on. Our method of holding onto them is to make all the images they have seen, or the sensations they felt while playing video games, repeatedly manifest within their bodies.
This manifestation is a form of addiction constantly flaring up. The moment they choose to turn off the computer and stop playing, within just a few minutes, they begin to feel pain throughout their entire body. The place where they feel it most intensely is their heart.
The Void Within
Their hearts become unable to find peace. The heart feels deep unease and fear; it feels helpless. Especially when the feeling of emptiness surges up, they are completely unable to cope. That feeling is like being on the verge of suffocation, as if the world is ending—it is an incomparably immense pain.
Just when they are in such pain, we exert a little of our demonic power within them, letting them reminisce about the pleasure, stimulation, and addictive of the internet world. This attracts them to open the computer again, and then they return to the internet world, living the same addicted life as before.
The reason we can act within them is that within their bodies—whether in The Head, the eyes, or the heart—there is already the existence of an internet space. How does this happen? Let me explain.
The Architecture of the Mind
When their eyes see the images on the internet, those images first form a space within the eyes. This space is, of course, not just a simple space; many spirits follow into it. There are sentient beings from the internet, and there are our demon crowds, all following into the space of the eyes.
Then, the images seen by the eyes begin to enter the brain for contemplation. In the process of contemplation, a space also appears in The Head. Whether it is the appearance of characters in a game or the various images and scenes they have seen, everything enters the space within the brain and is stored there. They can exert an influence on The Head at any time.
Of course, the space is not only stored in The Head and eyes. As long as their heart is moved, a space can also exist within the heart. Each space is not just a simple space; it can contain immeasurable and boundless beings. It depends on how many spirits enter that space at that moment; that is how many spirits enter their body.
We demons follow the images they see or the thoughts in their brains, entering their body parts such as The Head, eyes, and heart, gathering in the spaces within their bodies.
The Struggle for Deliverance
Once we enter the spaces within their bodies, interference becomes very easy. We need to interfere even more with those humans who want to wake up, and our method of interference is to make them repeatedly see the images that tempt them.
We make these images automatically appear in their brains, just like playing a movie; they play very naturally. And this is not limited to when they are sleeping at night; they can see these images during the day as well.
Sometimes they deliberately do not want to think about it, but it is difficult. The reason it is difficult is that as long as they see even a little bit of imagery or scenes in their daily life that can stimulate them—like advertisements, or seeing friends and family playing on computers, or hearing familiar sounds—it can have an effect on their bodies. It immediately awakens the memories in their heads, opening the spaces stored in The Head, eyes, heart, or throughout . We then have the opportunity to manifest and interfere with them, making them constantly recall the pleasure, stimulation, excitement, and comfort of playing on the computer.
Once they are tempted in this way, and then feel the pressure and pain of real life, coupled with their lack of self-control, willpower, and endurance, it is absolutely difficult to resist our influence. So, they quickly fail, turning on the computer they had just shut down, and continue to be addicted to the internet world.
We know very clearly that human perseverance is limited. When they find that every time they want to change they fail, they quickly give up, feeling that they will probably never be able to change. Thus, they develop a mental note of self-abandonment, letting themselves continue to rot in the internet, unable to summon any motivation to change.
The Encounter with Buddha-light
Once a person is dragged into the internet by me, we will not let them slip away easily. We will absolutely use every method to keep them detained in the internet, so we use many ways to seduce them again, making it difficult for them to break free from internet addiction.
We laughed, we cheered, feeling that we were about to win, about to conquer the entire Earth. However, before we had completely conquered it, we unexpectedly encountered the tall Practitioner Su.
Practitioner Su entered our world carrying Buddha-light and . The moment we met Practitioner Su, our demonic power turned into nothingness. We could not exert any strength at all, and in a very short time, we were taken away by Practitioner Su.
In an instant, everything became nothing left. We were all stunned, our hearts constantly being purified by the Buddha-power. Looking back at the past, it was so ignorant. I am grateful to the Buddha; we are all grateful to the Buddha. Without the Buddha, we could not have woken up, nor could we have repented for our sins. We beg the Buddha to give us a chance to change our ways; we are turning from evil toward Goodness."
