True beauty is not merely a matter of one's external appearance or physical form. It must originate from within, arising directly from the heart. When the inner state and the outer manifestation are perfectly aligned, without any duality, this is what we call true dignity. The manifestation of dignity is a profound and wonderful method for saving all beings. It is a reflection that arises directly from the heart.
Dignity is not a singular concept; it permeates every aspect of our existence and our environment. We can observe this dignity in many forms:
When we cultivate our practice, we begin to embody the various qualities of dignity. These qualities are the hallmarks of a practitioner who is walking the right path:
Everything that is truly beautiful is revealed from your own true self, and everything that is dignified is already contained within it. It is not something you need to seek outside of yourself.
To realise this dignity, one must practise Discipline (). When you maintain these, your heart will naturally become calm, and you will enter a deep meditative state. Within this deep meditative state, your Wisdom (Prajna) will blossom, and the light of your true self will begin to shine forth from your body.
As you continue your practice, the of the Dharma will arise within you. By chanting Buddha's name, you bring dignity to your practice and to the Buddha-land itself. This is the true meaning of the Pure Land. This message was recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
