During the second session of the , Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju offered profound guidance on the nature of genuine change. To truly repent is to ensure that a mistake is never committed again. In order to prevent the recurrence of evil consequences and the suffering that follows, one must possess the boldness and determination in learning Buddhism: even if there are obstacles, do not allow them to continue; even if there is interference from demons, persist in your initial vow and diligently practise changing your ways. The Buddha will be able to assist in removing these obstacles.
The path of a practitioner is often tested by various challenges. When you encounter obstacles, you must not allow them to persist or accumulate. Even when faced with interference from demons—those forces that seek to pull you away from your practice—you must hold fast to your initial vow. By maintaining your focus and diligently practising changing your ways, you create the conditions for the Buddha to assist you in clearing these barriers. Your sincerity acts as a beacon, guiding you through the darkness of confusion.
When the weight of your past manifests, it may appear as spiritual attachment, where seek to interfere with your progress. In such moments, do not succumb to fear. Instead, engage in sincere repenting and commit yourself to a life of purity. Through this dedicated effort, will provide the necessary support to invite spirits to resolve the conflict. This process of reconciliation is essential for your spiritual liberation, allowing you to leave suffering behind and find true happiness.
Everything in your spiritual journey must begin with the vow arising from your own strength, and diligent practice. True change is never merely a matter of words spoken aloud; it is a fundamental transformation that must arise from the very depths of your heart. You must ensure that your heart remains unswayed by the external environment, unconfused by illusions, and unmoved by the cravings of , which would otherwise lead to a retreat in your heart and the repetition of errors. Everyone should understand clearly: do not rely on external forces; everything must be done through your own strength. True change is what matters. Namo Amituofo.
