The Hidden Reality of Infinite Spaces
An Interview with the Spirit of Steve Jobs
Recorded by Venerable HaiZe on September 9, 2017
This interview was recorded on September 9, 2017, by Venerable HaiZe. Steve Jobs, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. In this testimony, he reflects on his post-life discovery of the infinitely layered nature of space, the reality of spiritual attachment, and the profound truth behind the teachings of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre.
Steve Jobs speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Steve Jobs. This morning, while walking in meditation, I observed so many beings within the space around us. Practitioner Su told me that this is what is called 'infinitely layered space.' This revelation has led me to a monumental discovery—one that leaves me both astonished and deeply saddened.
The Terrifying Truth of Infinite Layers
What is meant by 'infinitely layered space'? It means that from the past until the present, regardless of distance—whether near or far—every single fraction of a second can form a new space. It is absolutely terrifying! The mere act of thinking can create such phenomena. It is no wonder it has been said that this world is filled with spirits everywhere. It turns out that the spiritual activity within these spaces constitutes a part of our daily human life. Therefore, as long as you have a thought, no matter what kind of thought it is, you will inevitably find someone else who shares that same thought or mindset. That being may enter your body, becoming a part of you, and join you in observing the world, performing your actions, and thinking your thoughts. When you continue to think, they may interject their own emotions at any time to influence you. You might believe these are your own thoughts, but in reality, they are not—they are theirs. Because they have become a part of you, their thoughts have become yours, yet you remain completely unaware. It is truly terrifying! To think that this is the actual truth of reality!
Therefore, it can be said that when you are under spiritual attachment, the words you speak are not necessarily entirely your own; they are infused with the intentions of the attached spirits. The things you think are not necessarily what you alone have conceived; they are influenced by these beings. When you become angry, it is not always entirely your own desire to be angry; it is influenced by the attached spirits. They want you to feel anger, so you feel it. Perhaps you only had two parts of anger, but with the addition of their influence, it escalates to eight, nine, or even ten parts, until you are absolutely furious. You are neither in control nor aware of this because you lack the awareness to perceive that you are being attached to. You lack the awareness to realise that this is not your original state, and you lack the awareness to discover that this is not your true intention. Consequently, you allow these attached spirits to interfere with and influence you as they please.
The Duality of Attachment
If these beings have come to repay a debt of kindness, they may make you feel satisfied, worthy, joyful, and praised. However, if they have come to collect a debt or seek vengeance, they can cause you to fall ill, feel unsuccessful, stifled, unhappy, or trapped in various negative emotions. Heavens! As I, Steve Jobs, look back on the various circumstances of my life, I see these phenomena everywhere! It is truly miserable! It turns out that was not the 'real' Steve Jobs. Who was inside me? And where are they now?
I have now clarified the cause and effect of these events. Before, I only knew fragments and had no desire to see the whole picture. But now, through such a natural progression, I have come to understand. One of the spirits attached to me was Chang Ren, and there must have been others. During different periods and different states of mind, were those what we call ''? Are they the sentient beings with karmic affinity that I would encounter if I were to descend to the human world one day?
The Necessity of Awareness
Practice truly requires awareness; otherwise, you are being led by the nose without even knowing it. When I was alive, the things I did, the words I spoke, the Apple products I created, the ideas I put forth—who was doing all of this? Whose intention was it? Was it my own, or was it combined with the intentions of other attached spirits? Or was it a mix of both? So, the Steve Jobs of that time was not necessarily the 'true' Steve Jobs, but rather a Steve Jobs combined with other beings! Heavens! This is a shocking discovery that I only know now! How could such a thing be possible?
Although, surely, the current Steve Jobs must be the true, pure Steve Jobs without any attachments, right? Here in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, with Namo Amituofo looking after us, I should not be subject to attachment! Practitioner Su, don't you agree? Yet, I see the monastics and lay practitioners at the temple frequently inviting spirits—that must be inviting attached beings, right? Things are becoming increasingly complex. Looking at it layer by layer, it is so subtle. How many people could possibly know these things? Even the cleverest scientists have likely never considered such a possibility. This matter is worthy of their in-depth research and exploration. Perhaps it could even be the subject of a master's or doctoral thesis; it would certainly cause a global sensation! However, one must collaborate with Practitioner Su to understand the actual truth, so that there is no conflicting information or deviation. Only then can there be a thorough method of improvement—one that can truly send those attached spirits who are willing to resolve their grievances or depart to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. That is the only true solution.
Yet, in the process of such research, many more layers of space are created, because producing a report takes a great deal of time and effort. But if it allows people in the world to understand the truth, then it should be worth it. If Practitioner Su had not spoken and taught us, I, Steve Jobs, would probably never have known this. It is no wonder that Buddhism and Practitioner Su teach us not to think too much, and for monastics to keep their six roots pure—which means not to let the mind wander, to remain pure and good, to grow , and to achieve the fruit of . There is such a profound truth in this. One really needs someone to teach them; otherwise, one might think they are right when they are actually completely wrong. It is no wonder this world is filled with unhappiness and selfishness.
The Boundless Heart
If this 'infinitely layered space' is not only the case for the human realm, but other realms of beings are also subject to attachment, then there must be even more spaces. I am becoming dizzy just thinking about it; I cannot think about it anymore! Time is precious now. Quickly! I must be like Practitioner Su, constantly gesturing to the sentient beings and Bodhisattvas who keep coming, telling them to move forward—forward toward the bright, luminous place. That is the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss; that is the purpose of your coming today, the place you must go to attain rebirth.
The scene I see now is of people wearing Chinese clothing—men, women, the young, and the elderly. The old grandfathers and grandmothers look very much like the ancestors of the Chinese people. There is a sense of familiarity; in truth, all within the four seas are one family. Perhaps among them are even members of my own family from past lives. In the Buddha’s teachings, we are told that all men are my fathers and all women are my mothers. At the time, when I heard this, I was completely baffled. How could one possibly treat all men or women as one's own parents? But later, when I saw the infinitely layered beings that Practitioner Su saves—the beings that are always filling the space, whom she saves selflessly without seeking reward, sending them all forward to the Western Pure Land—I suddenly understood. This is 'mind-capacity'—a mind-capacity without end. It is also the concrete expression of 'great for those with whom one has no karmic affinity' and 'compassion for all as one body.' It is precisely this kind of heart—one that can contain the physical world, the vastness of the Realm, every blade of grass, every tree, and every grain of sand—that allows the Buddha’s teachings to be passed down continuously from generation to generation.
The Value of Purification
When I was alive, I held a respectful attitude toward religion, but I did not have what one would call a passionate devotion or deep involvement. I never expected that I would now find such wonders and be filled with Dharma everywhere in this Buddhist world, which I had never imagined. You might find it strange that I, a foreigner, am speaking in such a way, using terms that come so naturally, unlike a foreigner who knows nothing of the Buddha’s teachings. This is the result of purity and the 'oneness' perspective. In the pure Western Land, the mind does not wander. You do not need to struggle for a living, strive for self-realisation, plan, scheme, or be on guard. Instead, you are free and at ease—not idle, but at peace. Everything I see and hear here makes me smile, as if to say, 'So that is how it is!'
Furthermore, I can hear Practitioner Su’s teachings at any time, and combined with walking in meditation in the morning to save beings alongside her, all of these things have allowed me to grow rapidly and understand things through analogy. Therefore, I believe that the things I learned in the past, the books I read, and the bits and pieces of knowledge I acquired can be utilised in a very short time. This is the value of purification.
I am grateful to Practitioner Su for allowing me to share what I have seen and my insights with everyone every day. Until tomorrow! Namo Amituofo.
