Great ability and great power do not come from external sources or worldly status. Rather, they originate from within your own true self-nature. This is an infinite energy that operates in perfect harmony with and wisdom. When one taps into this source, it is not for the sake of personal fame, reputation, or material gain. Instead, this power is dedicated entirely to the noble purpose of saving beings, helping them leave suffering behind and attain rebirth in the of Ultimate Bliss.
This great ability and power arise from the of an awakened being and the successful accomplishment of their profound vows. It is not something that can be obtained through selfishness, nor can it be achieved by trying to bend the world to satisfy one's own personal desires. This power has its proper place and function. Whether it is manifest in the world for all to see, or whether it remains hidden and subtle, its sole purpose is always for the benefit of all beings.
There exists a sacred resonance between the Buddhas and all living beings. When beings reach out to the Buddhas—whether through a subtle, internal connection or through overt, external prayer—the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and ancestral masters respond accordingly. This is the nature of the connection:
Practitioner Su, deeply aware of the immense suffering of all beings, has responded to the needs of this world. With this great ability and power, he works tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of the world, guiding souls toward the path of liberation.
Through lectures and the teaching of the , if beings can take these words into their hearts, they can prevent suffering before it even arises. By receiving these benefits, they are spared from unnecessary hardship. As mentioned in the sutras, if you follow these teachings with a sincere heart, you will be filled with Dharma . You will be able to walk your path with steady, confident steps, eventually entering the state of liberation and .
