What does it truly mean to be magnificent and vast? The term magnificent describes a spirit that is grand, uplifting, and expansive. The term vast refers to a scope that is boundless and without limits. Together, they describe a state of being that is both majestic in its reach and infinite in its capacity. This is the very nature of the Buddha’s teachings, which contain a magnificent and vast spirit that transcends all worldly limitations.
When we speak of this quality, we are not merely describing a concept, but a living reality that defines the path of the practitioner. How can one cultivate such a heart? It begins with the intention to see their true self-nature and to alleviate the suffering of all beings. When a practitioner’s heart becomes magnificent and vast, they begin to see their true self-nature clearly, and their ability to resolve the suffering of others grows exponentially.
The heart of a Buddha or is truly magnificent and vast. It is a heart that encompasses all existence, embracing the entire universe within its . Because their hearts are so expansive, they are able to save beings across the ten directions. Those who are fortunate enough to encounter such a magnificent and vast heart will find that their own suffering can be healed and their path to liberation secured.

When He was in the causal stage as Dharmakara Bhikshu, His heart was already magnificent and vast. His resolve to teach and save beings never wavered, regardless of the challenges He faced. Through five kalpas of deep contemplation, He perfected His vows, and for the ten kalpas since the establishment of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, He has been tirelessly saving countless suffering beings.
