The true self is found within the state of nature. It is not something that can be discovered under pressure, nor can it be found through forced or anxious effort. If your heart is not sincere, or if it lacks the qualities of pure Goodness and purity, it will be difficult to find this true self. This is because the true self has always existed within the natural state of all things. Realising one's true nature is the most natural occurrence in existence; it is as effortless as the flowing of water or the movement of the clouds.
Once you begin the path of learning from the Buddha, you come to understand the ultimate purpose of your practice: to rediscover the true self that has always been within you. From this understanding, the vow to realise your true nature arises naturally, like a flower blooming in the morning sun. It is not a goal imposed from the outside, but a deep, internal calling that blossoms as your practice matures.

This leads to a state of active and persistent practice. You work towards realising your true nature not because you are forced, but because it is the natural expression of your heart. Therefore, realising your true nature is not a burden or a source of pressure; it is a vow that emerges naturally from your practice.
