During the third session of the , we turn our attention to the profound state of being free from all obstacles. It is a time to reflect deeply upon the nature of our own minds and the burdens we carry through our daily lives, as we seek to understand the true nature of our existence.

The Restless Heart

What is it that you find so obstructive? Why do you allow these obstacles to cloud your mind? Throughout the world, people are caught in a cycle of worry that never seems to cease. Because the heart is restless and insecure, you constantly seek something external to lean upon. You worry about the health of your physical body, especially when the first signs of illness or pain manifest before your eyes. You fear the unknown, wondering where you will go when the time comes to depart from this world. These anxieties are the shadows that follow the worldly heart, keeping you tethered to the cycle of suffering.

You are burdened by concerns for your parents, your spouse, and your children. These various emotional attachments and worldly cares weigh heavily upon your spirit. Understand this: the attachments you hold in your heart are simply the manifestation of your . You worry about the wealth you have laboured so hard to accumulate, constantly fretting over how to protect it and ensure a comfortable life. Yet, you cannot take your wealth with you when you die. Despite this truth, you remain consumed by the anxiety of how to hold onto it. In the end, you will leave this world without a single cent. What you do take with you is a heavy burden filled with the seeds of your karma. To be preoccupied with the distinctions of good and evil is the nature of the mundane body and the worldly heart.

The True Path to Liberation

True practice requires you to transcend these worldly concerns and enter the realm of pure goodness. The most essential task is to rediscover your true self. When the heart is free from obstacles, , too, becomes free from hindrance. When you understand the true nature of coming and going, your heart will finally find peace. There is no other method. Upon whom can you rely? You must rely solely on Namo Amituofo to enter the of Ultimate Bliss. This is the only way to leave suffering behind and find true happiness. Recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
