Heart, Vows, and Actions Follow Amitabha, Spreading Throughout Space and the Dharma Realm
The serves as a vital bridge between our current state of existence and the of Ultimate Bliss. During the third session of this sacred ceremony, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju provided essential guidance on the nature of our vows and the commitment required to walk the path of the Buddha.
Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju asks us directly: "Where does your vow reside today?" A true vow is not merely a fleeting thought or a temporary aspiration; it is a spiritual force capable of moving mountains. When your vow is firm and unwavering, you will not fear the tests of demons. These challenges are not obstacles to be avoided, but rather opportunities to strengthen your resolve and prove the sincerity of your heart. By maintaining a steadfast vow, you ensure that your practice remains resilient against the distractions of the world.
We often find ourselves burdened by layers of internal filth and endless, tangled threads of thought. These are the manifestations of our past karmic entanglements. Whether we perceive these connections as good or bad, they are simply the result of our past actions appearing before us. Do not be swayed by these appearances. Instead, realise them as the karmic seeds you have sown. When you understand that these experiences are merely the fruition of past causes, you can remain calm and focused, refusing to let them pull you away from your goal of rebirth in the Western Pure Land.
When you feel the power of your vow, you must hold onto it firmly. Do not retreat from your initial commitment to Faith, Vows, and Practice. Your faith must be twofold: you must have faith in your own original nature and faith in . Through right practice, you will verify your vows and see them manifest in your daily life. Follow the Buddha’s vow and practice across many lifetimes. Move forward directly without looking back, for the path to the Western Pure Land requires a single-minded focus.
You must break through the layers of physical and mental testing that arise during your practice. By doing so, you will realise the supreme path. Your vows must be one with the Buddha’s vows, and your actions must be one with the Buddha’s actions. When you dedicate yourself to saving all beings and guiding them to the Western Pure Land, you are truly a disciple of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. This is the path of the true Buddha-child, walking in the light of Namo Amituofo.
