The Essence of Truth

What is Truth? Truth is that which is not false; it is not deception, but rather that which is real and unstained. What is a sincere heart? This heart is not false, without deception, real, without concealment, transparent, and unstained. A sincere heart is one of the fundamental virtues possessed by those who have realised their true nature. It is a light that can illuminate the dark, gloomy, and polluted world that is not true.

When you treat others with a sincere heart, they can feel your sincerity and earnestness; it is a natural aura that radiates from your interactions. Those who are dedicated to the path of purification, those who have let go of the ego, those who are compassionate and selfless, and those who have realised their true nature—all share this quality. Namo Amituofo, the Buddhas, the Bodhisattvas, and the ancestral masters all embody this perfect sincerity.

The Radiance of a Pure Heart

If you have made a vow to seek , you must constantly engage in self-reflection. Ask yourself: am I truly treating others with a sincere heart in all my affairs? You must commit yourself to the path of purification, and then more purification. You must cultivate goodness, and then more goodness, until your heart reaches a state of absolute purity and perfect kindness. Within this sincere heart, you must diligently grow, constantly practising repentance and changing your ways whenever you fall short.

A sincere heart is selfless. It allows you to truly understand the needs of others and to give of yourself without seeking any reward or recognition. This sincerity should be expanded from individuals to groups, to the nation, to the temple and the fourfold assembly of monastics and lay practitioners, to all sentient beings in the realm, to the universe and the Milky Way, to the demon crowds, and indeed, to every single living being—including even the smallest manifestations of life, such as a blade of grass, a single flower, a piece of fruit, or the smallest insect. This is the natural manifestation of the view of Oneness.

The Infinite Grace of Namo Amituofo

A sincere heart is precious because it is the original face of all beings. You do not need to seek it outside of yourself; it is a natural expression of your own true self. Consider the example of , who, with a sincere heart, made the Forty-eight Great Vows. With that same sincerity, He established the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss and dedicated Himself to saving infinite suffering beings.

It is only through this boundless sincerity that we can be saved from the cycle of rebirth and the suffering of wandering through the six realms. By following this path, we may leave behind all suffering and enter the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, where we shall only receive all happiness. There, we shall realise our true nature and attain Buddhahood. This is the manifestation of the infinite and grace of Namo Amituofo. Namo Amituofo.
