Heart, Vows, and Actions Follow Amitabha, Spreading Throughout Space and the Dharma Realm
The darkness of yesterday has faded, connecting us to the fresh light of this morning. As the sun rises in the east, it greets us with the promise of a new day. This moment is not merely a transition of time; it is a fresh beginning, an invitation to reflect upon how we choose to live our lives. Each day is a canvas upon which we paint our intentions, our words, and our actions. How will you spend this day that has been gifted to you?
Every single day offers us a multitude of paths. We must consider the quality of our conduct and the state of our hearts as we navigate these hours:
How you spend your days, how you treat those around you, and how you conduct your practice all depend on the direction in which your heart leads you. Your actions are the direct manifestation of the state of your heart.
Students of the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, how do you spend your days? The actions led by a heart that cannot take charge are vastly different from those led by a heart that has mastered itself. If your heart is not the master, you are inevitably led by the forces of reincarnation and the external pressures of your environment. This leads to a life defined by the suffering of birth, aging, sickness, and death. You become a passenger in your own life, tossed about by the waves of .
However, if you choose to transform your karma and refuse to be dominated by external circumstances, you can become an awakened being. A heart that has attained this mastery leads to a life that is truly free. It is a life that is not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die, and a life where your spirit does not die. This is the path that leads naturally and effortlessly to rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
The sun rises every day, yet the question remains: will you continue to spend your days as you always have, allowing your old karmic habits to remain the master of your life? Or will you choose to break through? You have the power to cast off the various constraints of the past. Through diligent practice, you can transform your karma and realise your true nature.
In the midst of our busy, fleeting lives, we must strive to live differently than we have in the past. To live a life that is not merely a repetition of old patterns is the mark of a practitioner who has attained true freedom and self-mastery. By aligning your heart with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, you ensure that every sunrise marks a step closer to your ultimate goal. .
