The very purpose of studying the Buddha's teachings is to cultivate and open your Wisdom. Only when your Wisdom is active can you truly understand the necessity of transformation. It is through this constant process of shifting your perspective and your heart that you seek progress on the path to .
Transformation is not merely a concept; it is a vital practice that you must apply to every aspect of your existence. You must learn to shift your state of being in the following ways:
This practice of transformation must extend to your daily interactions and your internal dialogue. You must learn to change how you perceive and engage with the world:
You must perform these transformations in the present moment, immediately and without hesitation. You must transform your heart, your physical actions, your speech, and your intentions. By doing so, you can transform even the most difficult, adverse circumstances into favourable conditions for your practice.
The skill of transformation begins with how you approach the changes within your own body. In the Buddhist view, your internal state is the primary reality, while the external world is merely a reflection. Therefore, the external environment should follow the lead of your internal state, rather than your heart being swayed by the external world.
If you view your body as a vast universe, your heart and mind represent the primary reality. Everything outside of this—your physical body and the environment surrounding you—is the secondary reality. When your heart is stable and pure, it can influence the countless cells within your body. You can shift them from a state of illness or impurity into a state of stability, health, and purity.
Your heart possesses the power to transform the thoughts and intentions of the countless , attached spirits, and even demon crowds that may reside within or around you. By shifting your own heart from a state of resentment or fear to one of acceptance, resolution, and the sincere invitation for these beings to receive , you change the entire atmosphere of your existence.
This shift allows you to dissolve your and reduce the obstacles that hinder your progress. It prevents these spirits from causing further interference in your practice, allowing you to move forward with a clear and focused mind. Furthermore, your heart has the power to transform the external environment itself. When you possess this skill of transformation, you gain the opportunity to truly transform your karma.
When your heart is capable of transforming your karma, you can transcend the cycle of aging, sickness, and death. You can transform these inevitable sufferings into a state of eternal vitality, where your spirit never dies and you are assured of rebirth in the of Ultimate Bliss.
Before you reach the state of Awakening, you are often swayed by your karma, by your environment, and by the influence of other beings. However, the process of Awakening requires you to master the ability to transform these influences. By consciously transforming your karma, your environment, and the hearts and actions of the beings around you, you are walking the path toward true Awakening. This is the essential process of realising your true nature.
