This is a record of an interview with the spirit of Steve Jobs, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his observations of the spiritual realms and his experiences after passing. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on November 4, 2017.

Steve Jobs speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Steve Jobs. Every living being possesses a spirit—this is a truth I can now verify. It is something I have come to understand deeply since arriving in the Western Pure Land and following the guidance of the elder practitioner in receiving Chao Du. Today, I have come to flip through the records and share something truly special with all of you.

A few days ago, a piece was published regarding cells. Within those cells, there are men, women, the old, and the young—I am referring to the spiritual realms that are invisible to the human eye and the microscope. These are beings who have had karmic affinities with us in the past. Do not doubt it; it is truly that miraculous. I once observed a cell that looked different from the others; it appeared somewhat incomplete, as if it had a physical defect. It turned out that this spirit had been struck and crippled in a past life. Consequently, it remained attached to the leg of the cell's host, twitching from time to time, causing sharp, stabbing pains. It did this simply to remind the host that it still existed. The host felt pain because the spirit within the cell was still suffering—and it had been suffering for far longer than the host, spanning many lifetimes. We never truly understand this kind of agony; we are usually only concerned with our own physical situations. In the past, because people did not understand, they would only blame this or that. Today, with me explaining it this way, I wonder if you have a better understanding of the fluctuations and pains within your own bodies? Perhaps you will be less inclined to complain now."

Encounters with the Fog Spirits

"Looking at the world through a fog is becoming increasingly interesting. I do not know what you find interesting, but let me share what I have seen. I encountered a group of little sprites living within the mist. They wore clothes the colour of the fog—white, almost transparent. It was so extraordinary! I have seen flower spirits and grass spirits, but I had never seen fog spirits before. I asked them, 'May I ask why you are so unique?' The fog spirits had never interacted with humans before, so when I spoke to them, they were quite nervous. Very few people ever notice their existence, and they were trembling slightly. I was made nervous by them as well, so I clarified that I had no evil intent and was merely conducting an interview.

The fog spirits asked, 'An interview? What is an interview? If it is dangerous, we will not do it.' I replied, 'No, no, it is just a conversation.' They asked, 'That is all? What do you want to talk about?' I said, 'Tell me about your lives.' They asked, 'Is that really all?' I answered, 'Yes!' They then explained, 'We live among the mountain valleys. When there is no mist, we are almost entirely transparent. We do not need to eat food; our source of survival comes from absorbing the external magnetic fields. Therefore, if the magnetic field is too negative, we cannot stay there.' I asked, 'What is your average lifespan?' They replied, 'The longest can reach two hundred years, but most only live to be a little over a hundred.'"

The Path to Buddhahood

"I then asked them, 'Are you interested in becoming a Buddha?' They asked, 'What are the benefits?' I told them, 'Your bodies will shine, and you can become as golden as gold itself.' They exclaimed, 'Wow! Wouldn't that be beautiful?' I continued, 'The magnetic field there is excellent, and you would no longer have to live in the valleys.' They asked, 'Then how do we get there?' I said, 'Just follow me.' They were hesitant, saying, 'That sounds dangerous. Are you a strange uncle?' I pointed up and said, 'Look, there are monastics above; you need not be afraid.' They looked and said, 'We see them, so many of them! Then we will follow you. May we fly along with you?' I said, 'Very well! You take the rear, and remember to head toward the light to reach the Western Pure Land.'

As the Buddha-light shone upon them, they shed their sprite clothing and returned to their original human forms. They followed behind, flying, yet they seemed to still think they were sprites. I could not help but laugh, as they still held onto the habits they had when they were spirits."

The Girl Who Became a Water Molecule

"I took the record book and flipped to the next page. The next one to introduce is a water molecule from the 'Hundred Rivers'. She was a little girl who had never touched water in her life because her parents would not let her go near the riverbanks. She would watch the other children playing in the river, splashing each other, looking so comfortable and happy. But her parents had once lost a beloved child—her older brother—in an accidental drowning, so they placed many restrictions on her. She understood her parents' , but being unable to do so many things made her feel very suppressed. She was stifled, depressed, and unhappy. Eventually, she could not bear it any longer; she walked to the riverbank, squatted down, and touched the water. 'Wow! Such coolness, like nothing I have ever felt!' As she reached out to scoop up some water, her feet slipped, and she fell into the river. She was completely submerged. She did not feel the comfort she had imagined; instead, she lost . Because she loved water so much, she became a water molecule. When the elder practitioner performed the Chao Du for the Hundred Rivers, she was brought up. I only noticed her because she was smiling so sweetly."

The Soul of a Tofu Maker

"There is another special case: the tofu that was purchased and brought back to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. I saw them jumping for the moment they were loaded onto the vehicle. When they arrived, they were grinning from ear to ear. The spirit was an elderly grandmother who had immigrated to Australia and lived in Brisbane. In her daily life, she would make tofu to sell to people she knew, and the local Chinese community treated her like a treasure. Because this was a tradition from her hometown, she made it with great joy. Making tofu gave her a tremendous sense of achievement. She would even dream about making tofu in her sleep. After she passed away, she entered the space of tofu-making and became the tofu itself. This is a personal note of mine, not something that happened during a Chao Du ceremony.

I have records of stones, eagles, moss, scriptures... these are my 'Chao Du secrets'. Perhaps I will share more if the opportunity arises. I, Steve Jobs, am writing this to tell everyone that a human body is extremely difficult to obtain. If you are not careful, you might find yourself becoming all sorts of things—anything is possible. Every object around you has a spirit. Now, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre has opened the door to these realms, and they can be interviewed. I am recruiting for the elder practitioner; if you wish to possess these skills, you can register online. Once you learn these skills, your life will be far different from the daily cycle of work, rest, and play. You will experience a joy that is beyond mere happiness. Of course, once you have learned them, you can also save others. This makes for a much more meaningful life. I invite you all to register. Namo Amituofo."

"Namo Amituofo."
