The Truth of the Thrice Yearning Ceremony
The Thirtieth Letter of Venerable Master Wei Jue
Recorded at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre

This is a record of an interview with Venerable Master Wei Jue, who shares his insights on the conducted at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on July 16, 2017.
Venerable Master Wei Jue speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I have been participating in the weekly Thrice Yearning Ceremony with my own eyes. Every Sunday is a magnificent and momentous occasion for the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre; it is truly a magnificent assembly that spans the entire Dharma realm of emptiness. Everyone—those of you who cannot see—everyone is present. From the Four Sacred Realms and the twenty-eight heavens above, down to the hells and the paths of suffering below, all beings arrive. They are immeasurable and boundless. Can you even begin to imagine how magnificent such a grand event is? These descriptions only begin to touch upon the scene of spirit realm beings seeking Spiritual Deliverance."
A Magnificent Gathering of the Dharma Realm
"The sight of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas receiving these beings is so moving that it brings one to their knees. There is a vast ocean of pure Bodhisattvas, and the golden forms of the Western Three Saints are there to lead them. Many ancestral masters and virtuous predecessors who have already attained rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss are also here to participate in this grand event. All the spirits who hear of this place and arrive here, without exception, kneel in repentance. One after another, they seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Why is this scene not found everywhere? The difference lies in whether one is 'in sync' with the Buddha-heart and the Buddha-vow."
The Power of Sincerity and Practitioner Su
"The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have all stated that to be in sync with the Buddha-heart and the Buddha-vow is to receive the assistance of the Buddha's power. Here, there is a person who truly embodies this: Practitioner Su. She is a lay practitioner, yet she is more authentic than any monastic I have ever encountered. This is the cultivation of the heart—a true, sincere heart that cannot be faked. I, too, was once unable to fully believe in a lay practitioner, given her status as a layperson. But today, I genuinely admire and respect her. This kind of practice is extremely difficult to achieve because it requires one to reach a state of 'no-mind.' How many people can truly achieve this? There is not much difference between being a monastic and being a layperson, because today, how many monastics are still deeply attached to worldly matters? They are essentially laypeople who have simply shaved their heads. Whether one has truly cultivated, how much effort one has put in, and how much one has let go—all of this can be seen. The price of truth versus falsehood is immense."
A Final Warning on the Cycle of Rebirth
"A true leader is one who can connect with the Buddhas, just as everyone sees here today. This is genuine skill. Although it is inconceivable, it is real and not false. You should believe that the ability to hold such a Thrice Yearning Ceremony is extremely magnificent and rare in this world. The benefits one can gain from participating are something only you yourself can truly understand. I do not know how long such an opportunity will last, so I, Wei Jue, can only urge everyone to seize it. I participate every week because only through such an opportunity can I deliver the sins and karmic debts I have accumulated. If you truly wish to be saved, you must believe that only here can it be done. Whether you have truly been delivered to the Western Pure Land, your own body will tell you the real answer, because there will certainly be a response. You may believe that your own bodhimanda or your own Dharma assembly is good for you, or perhaps you will encounter your own Causal Conditions. It might be good, but it might also be bad. I only hope that in this life, you will not miss this chance or live to regret it, because this is the last journey of your life. The cycle of rebirth does not guarantee that you will return to the human world. Where will you go? If you look at the six realms of rebirth, it is absolutely terrifying. Everyone should be vigilant. This is not a life of ease. Listen to my words: choose wisely. Namo Amituofo."
