Mind-capacity is formless and colourless. It is the vast, invisible landscape of our inner world, and its dimensions define the scope of our spiritual journey. How we perceive the world and interact with others depends entirely upon the breadth of this capacity.
Our mind-capacity can be as small as a shallow pool of water, which dries up when the rains cease, revealing the mud at the bottom. It can be as small as a speck of dust, concerned only with personal gain and unable to tolerate those who are different. However, it can also be as vast as the ocean—without boundaries, without signs of exhaustion, and free from the constraints of discrimination. It simply encompasses everything, receiving the flowing streams from all directions, whether they are pure or impure.
Furthermore, our mind-capacity can be as expansive as the void itself—deep, profound, and infinite. It encompasses all things. Just as the air fills the void and provides the oxygen necessary for all creatures to live, a vast mind-capacity provides the essential environment for our spiritual life to flourish.
To expand your mind-capacity, you must learn to let go of the need to judge. Do not dwell on the faults of others, do not calculate gains and losses, and do not compare good and bad. When you truly expand your heart, you will find that there is no one you dislike or feel dissatisfied with. You learn to tolerate the shortcomings of others, understanding that they are still bound by their and often controlled by and spiritual attachment, making it difficult for them to be the masters of their own actions.
As you observe others, you must also turn the light inward and reflect upon yourself. Ask yourself: "Am I truly free from faults and shortcomings?" Unless one has reached the state of an awakened being, who can honestly claim to be without error? By acknowledging our own imperfections, we develop the humility required to forgive others.
To cultivate this vast mind-capacity, we must anchor ourselves in four essential qualities: Sincerity, by maintaining a heart that is pure and without selfish demands; , by practising Generosity and finding happiness in sharing; Equality, by seeing that you and others are one; and Gratitude, by viewing every person you meet as a good friend from whom you can learn.
Nurture your mind-capacity daily. When you remove the distinctions between "you" and "me," you become in sync with your true self and aligned with the Truth. This expansion is a necessary requirement for awakening. It is the essential provision for saving yourself and others, serving as the vital resource that will guide us all back to the of Ultimate Bliss.
