Bearing the Suffering of All Beings at All Times, Thus Inviting the Presence of Amitabha Buddha
Heart, Vows, and Actions Follow Amitabha, Spreading Throughout Space and the Dharma Realm
In the profound teachings of the , we are often reminded of the nature of our existence. During the third session, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju offered a vital lesson on the metaphor of the mirror, illustrating how we might finally break free from the cycle of attachment.
The mirror of our mind falls into this world, guided by the weight of our past . When we encounter the trials of life, we often feel as though our very sense of self has shattered. If you can truly let go of the broken pieces, the scars of the past will fade away, and the traces of your suffering will be gone. However, if you insist on trying to mend what is broken—clinging to past identities or grievances—the cracks and traces of the past will always remain, preventing you from moving forward.
When the mirror finally detaches itself from the external environment, the karmic connection is severed. It is only a matter of time before this liberation occurs. When the mirror breaks, you must see through the illusion. By realising the truth of impermanence, you will perceive the underlying emptiness of all things. Having been through the wringer of samsara, you finally awaken to the truth. You realise that your original nature has always been this way, untouched by the chaos of the world.
When the mirror and the environment merge into a single One, there is no longer any distinction between the observer and the observed. Face all things with a calm heart. This state of is what we call One Suchness, which is the direct manifestation of your true nature. By letting go of the need to fix the broken reflections of the past, you allow your original, luminous nature to shine forth once more. This is the path to true liberation.
