Life is, in its essence, a solitary journey. As the ancient teachings remind us, we are born alone and we die alone; we come into this world alone and we depart alone. Within this brief span of time, you must strive to live a life of true meaning. You must move in the direction of liberation from the cycle of rebirth and the heavy weight of karma. Do not allow yourself to become lost in the cycle of rebirth, trapped by the very forces that keep you bound to suffering. Instead, seek the path that leads away from these entanglements.
Spiritual practice represents a different way of living. It is distinct from the worldly life, which is often focused entirely on . Instead, a life of practice is lived through the expansion of your mind-capacity, the cultivation of , and the practice of tolerance. To be a true practitioner, you must align your life with these higher purposes:
If you can truly live in this way, dedicating every moment to these noble goals, you are a true practitioner. By shifting your focus from the self to the salvation of all beings, you transform your life into a vessel for the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.
