During the and the Noon Offering, we are reminded of the profound nature of the True Heart. What does it mean to possess a True Heart? It is a state of being where one no longer considers personal gain or loss. It is a heart that is entirely focused on the well-being of others. When you act from this place of purity, you are not concerned with your own interests; you are moved only by the needs of those you seek to help.
When you walk alongside another with a True Heart, you become a constant source of support. At the very moment they require assistance, you are there to provide what is necessary. This companionship involves several vital actions:
Furthermore, this guidance requires a discerning eye and a compassionate spirit. When you see a mistake, you offer correction with kindness. When you see Goodness, you offer affirmation to strengthen their resolve. When you see unwholesome tendencies, you help them adjust their course. The ultimate goal is to help them grow and flourish, all while expecting absolutely nothing in return.
If you encounter such a connection in your own practice, you must realise that it is a great blessing and a profound stroke of good fortune. To the students of Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, you are currently experiencing this very reality. Practitioner Su acts as both teacher and friend, as both father and mother to you all. He offers his True Heart as a constant companion, standing by your side twenty-four hours a day, never leaving your side, and protecting you with unwavering dedication.
You must learn to recognise this blessing and understand the depth of this gratitude. Cherish this rare opportunity. Remain active and persistent in your practice, for your primary goal is to realise your true nature and reach as soon as possible.
