Generally, what is known as spiritual attachment refers to the phenomenon where external spirits enter the human body. Why do these spirits enter? It is because they resonate with the fluctuations of our heart, our every thought and intention, and the specific energy we emit. If your own intention is not firm, or if you cannot truly master your own body, these attached spirits may interfere with you. They create a heavy burden, working in tandem with your to manifest various forms of aging, physical pain, and suffering.
Until you have achieved a high level of meditative concentration, you cannot maintain a state where may move while the heart remains unmoved. Without this skill, your thoughts and reflections will not only attract karmic creditors and cause negative manifesting, but they will also invite external spirits to enter your body. These spirits include beings in the plague and demon realms and those from the ghost realm who wander through the air. Once attached, they can move in and out of your body according to their own will, making it impossible for you to remain the master of your own physical form.
These attached spirits, which are ghost realm beings, are everywhere. They fill every corner, every space, and every location. While they are invisible to the physical eyes, those who have opened their spiritual vision can see them clearly. They are present in every environment, and their influence is far more pervasive than most people realise.
Therefore, as a practitioner, you should strive to have few desires and few thoughts, or ideally, no desires at all. Focus your mind solely on chanting Namo Amituofo. By chanting continuously without interruption, you can reduce and avoid the attachment of external spirits, thereby maintaining the purity of your Body-Mind-Spirit. This is the most effective way to protect yourself and ensure that you remain on the right path toward the of Ultimate Bliss.
