My children, when you reside within the temple and the bodhimanda of the True Teachings, you must understand the gravity of your journey. Before you reach the state of an awakened being, you must walk on thin ice, maintaining the utmost caution and vigilance regarding your own purification. Every single trace of impurity, no matter how minute, must be addressed with urgency. You must strive to remove these defilements and attain purity within the shortest possible time.

Some impurities are deeply ingrained within the spirit. Even when you work diligently at your purification, these shadows may still leave behind traces. We call these traces consciousness. This consciousness resides within your spirit; it is a real and tangible presence that serves as a record of your past and present actions. Through this consciousness, one can perceive the circumstances of the past and the present. It is precisely because this consciousness exists that your karma is able to take effect and influence your life.

The Power of the Buddha-Name

If you truly wish to remove defilements and attain purity, you must possess the genuine skills of chanting the Buddha-name. The name of Namo Amituofo is inherently pure and inherently good. If your practice is effective, this name can be elevated into an energy of supreme purity and supreme goodness. When the heart and actions of a practitioner are in sync with Namo Amituofo, you will naturally receive the energetic benefits of this holy name.

By doing so, you will receive true benefits, and you will find that this is the most direct shortcut to rediscovering your true self.

The Shortcut to the Western Pure Land

Your mental notes and your actions are the buttons that connect you to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. When you chant the name of the Buddha with a sincere heart, your intention becomes perfectly aligned with the profound vows and the vow-based actions of Namo Amituofo. Because of this alignment, even a single thought or ten thoughts of Namo Amituofo act as a switch.

Once this switch is pressed, you will immediately see Namo Amituofo arriving to lead you to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is a supreme Dharma Jewel, a wonderful method for liberation. It is my sincere hope that all my children who have the karmic affinity will make good use of it.

Today, as we gather for the Thrice Yearning Ceremony, I wish for all those in attendance to join together in chanting the Buddha-name. As you chant, you will enter the golden light of the Buddha.
