This is a record of an interview with the late Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land. This account reflects his message to his son, Lee Hsien Loong, recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fa Xi, on June 14, 2017.

Lee Kuan Yew speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. When a person walks through the journey of life without the guidance of the ultimate Truth, what is the final outcome? It is difficult to say whether one ends up in a heavenly realm or descends into the hells. The uncertainty is a heavy burden to bear.

Hsien Loong, you have always been the pride of my life. I am relieved to tell you that your father has successfully reached the Western Land. Even now, I continue to watch over everything you do. The unspoken understanding and the deep paternal affection between us have not faded with time; they remain as vibrant as ever. My life was one of true honour and accomplishment, yet there is one final request I must make to bring my legacy to a perfect, peaceful conclusion.

A Father’s Final Request

I hope that you will come to find me. I hope that within these words, you can clearly discern the voice of your father. Here in Australia, on this vast and expansive territory, there exists a beacon of pure light waiting for you to set sail toward it. The agony of cancer—the physical suffering that plagues —is something I do not wish for you to experience or endure. I see the cloudiness in your eyes, and I truly hope you realise that only your father can help you clear that haze.

The Path to the Western Land

To trust in this message just once will not cause you any harm, nor will you lose anything by exploring it. The Buddhist community here is pure and filled with genuine Goodness. Furthermore, these messages originate from the Western Land itself. I am Lee Kuan Yew, the father of Lee Hsien Loong, and my deepest desire is to establish a connection with my son once more. I am calling out to you: how should one walk the path that leads back to our true home? Namo Amituofo."
